Hi everyone!

Like most day traders, I blew up my account a couple times and lost enough money to make most grown men weep. After I regrouped I started trading with common sense and with control of my emotions.

Later, I decided I wanted a forum to share my ideas as well as learn from others. I created my blog on April 17th, 2009 in order to meet this goal, as well as hold myself accountable for my trades and actions. I wanted a way to be able to lookback and ensure I was following my own advice.

The blog introduced me to a lot of fellow traders, some struggling, some doing exceptionally well. Talking with them everyday has really helped my trading and given me a lot of new ideas as well. In turn, I hope that I have provided them something useful that helps in their trading.

Since the blog did very well I decided to create this forum, and it was born June 11th, 2009. The forum was designed with the specific goal of having a small community of traders focused on making money. There are other sites out there but I never really felt at home with many of them, their userbase is too focused on proving someone wrong instead of trying to help.

You can find some more information about me in my profile.

Tip

After you read this thread and reply with your own introduction, you can find more Beginner articles on how to use this forum here:
https://nexusfi.com/beginners-introductions-tutorials/ and also visit our Wiki Help section here: https://nexusfi.com/help-tutorials-how-tos/

Also, as you are reading the thousands of posts on the forum -- don't forget to use the Thanks button (bottom right of each post) to let the author know his post is appreciated!

Good hunting!

Mike

Hi Mike,

Apologies for my late post in replying since i joined. I have been wrapped up testing the Jigsaw DOM.

As way of an introduction, i would classify myself as an "experienced Newbie" after 9 months trying everything from Technical Analysis to Market Profile to eventually the Depth of Market.

Started trading FOREX and lost monies but have eventually moved over to trade the US Treasuries (primarily the 10 Year Note) using Jigsaw DOM via NinjaTrader.

The webinars I have attended with nexusfi.com have been great and a BIG BIG thank you Mike for the vision of setting up the community. At times newbie traders get overwhelmed with all the information with books, training seminars and systems but as soon as they take ownership of their Trading Journey then it makes a difference.

Looking forward to participating with the community

Best Wishes,
James

Hi Big Mike and All,

I was recently forced out of an LLC where I was an executive and minority shareholder.
My vision is to self-direct all my investments and retirement funds; as well as generating income by disciplined well thought out methodology.

One of my accounts will be for futures trading and other more aggressive stock swing purchases. I have accounts with TOS and Vanguard. Recently, I purchased futures trading software from Champion Setups- MFT Pro. I am also a student of Hubert Senters, and a follower of Ichimoku cloud trend trading.

Currently, I am working on crafting a trading plan as well as a business plan. It would be great if I can obtain some input from other members who have similar experiences. I'm thankful I ran across this blog by accident, and look forward to learning from more experienced traders who may be willing to help.

Thanks for your warm welcome,

Dave

Like I said in the previous post, you will get much more help if you create a journal.

In your journal people will be able to better understand your situation and can better assist you.

Good luck!

Hey Mike, Everyone,

First of all Thanks for the forum and site, glad I found it when I was doing a search for how people like Dorman linked with Ninja Trader.

I'm just at the beginning phase for downloading NT. I've joined a subscription service for chart info, and they only run on NT 7 so I need to either Buy the platform or the license. I've downloaded it before but couldn't get into using it. I want to avoid that happening again.

I have been trading off and on since l 2007. When I started during the big dip and the financial crisis and BP Oil Spill it didn't go like I thought, and I blew through a bunch of money, then I started over and decided to trade options and blew through a bunch of money there. Those hard experiences taught me difficult lessons about what I could and couldn't do as a trader. After taking some time off and going back to work, I've been trading profitably for nearly a year, but I still have a long way to go towards consistency and better trade management. I trade Options, Futures, and Stocks with TDA on the ThinkOrSwim Platform. I still work a full time job at a desk as an estimator for a supply co that specializes in construction material. They understand my primary concern as a trader and do not have an issue with me running my set up at work as long as I complete what is necessary for them. I've tried to trade from home, but that wasn't as fulfilling as I expected.

Looking forward to participation,

Regards,

Kevin B

Hello all futures trader,

I started personally trading commodity futures back in 1991. In 2001, I founded Insignia Futures & Options, a boutique futures brokerage firms aimed at assisting and educating investors new to futures trading.

I look forward to contributing to the Futures.io forums and welcome and questions from the members.

Thanks,

Joe Fallico
