Great to be part of something bigger than myself here. I've been trading for 3.5 years now and just turned profitable I believe. I'd love to tell my journey and continue to learn more and more. Well... Since I have some time... It's a crazy journey. I had to realize at first that I had an anger problem. I was holding back a lot of anger, frustration, and sadness. I didn't even know i was depressed, but i was. I had to first fix that. I'd did in an all out explosion of emotion in front of someone that truly loved me.. No judgment . Oh yea I didn't know what real love was either and that someone can love you just as you are instead of what you become...or are on paper... Sum real bs. After that was done I had to learn to not judge myself at all and in that process you'll not judge others... I could finally live in the present moment after that. I could be myself with no strings attached and life is like now what it was like when I was a kid. I always go with my first instinct... Which we're all told to do but nobody tells you exactly how to do it. I am currently still working on this but my trading is well... Perfect now. I make no mistakes so that can only end good. This is literally what I think when I trade now.... Chart.. Triangle. Up or down based on feel Up.... Put my tp in based on feel...is the tp/risk worth it? Good. Done. No second guessing, it's just me trading, and I found me is all I can be, and it's doing my best. Finally over that hump that it seems every trader gets stuck at. Ps... When you break down and cry like a baby because you've basically given up... Exactly what you need to do will come to you. It will be something that will not only help you with trading but help you in life too. Be patient and try as hard as you fucking can... And fail. Lose that battle and come back to win the war. Hope to make a lot of friends and learn tons!
I'm a newbie and have choses futures due to the restrictive nature of the equities market with their Pattern Day Trade rule. I would like to be bias neutral (Bull or Bear or Bracket) and trade with the flow of the market. Anyhow I am happy to have found you all and am diving head first by becoming an ELITE member from the git go. I need to learn everything from scratch so tips are welcomed. So I have no bad habits in regards to futures and am a clean slate. I like the saying "when the student is ready the teacher will appear". And low and behold I found futures.io. One thing I do know for certain is managing risk is paramount. I appreciate any guidance in the form of if I could do it all over again I would do this instead of that! My goal is to become a futures trading robot; patience, emotionless, and precise. Trading the plan.
In the quest to learn if there will ever be financial rewards from day trading and scalping The E Minis, Forex and Commodities, I'm, at the minimum, happy enough to realize, that, thus far, the cost in both time and money is worth the mental, psychological and emotional benefits.
The quest to achieve this potential financial end game is stimulating and socially positive and there is no way in this hell on earth I'll let this monster take what I have.
The endeavor improves upon any understanding and purposefulness of that which is or is not true, fair, honest, deceptive, real and compassionate.
At the end of all my BS I truly am after the money- and the market don't care.
I'm between jobs right now after doing computer programming with one of the big wall street firms for 5 years. I've always been really into markets, and I'm using the down time to try scalping with some demo accounts. I'm mostly just looking for some experienced traders to watch and chat with. I am new to futures but have been trading forex for a while - I am excited to be continuing my education here and really becoming an effective profitable trader.

I've been trading my PA for the last 5 years, and have worked in the capital markets for 7 years now. I work in CRE finance, both CMBS and balance sheet levered lending. CRE is pretty bland, or at least the debt side is in my opinion, regardless of how heavily structured the product I may be working with. To me, the functioning (perhaps non-functioning more appropriate these days imo) of the broader capital markets is much more interesting, so that's where I spend the majority of my time and effort. The additional context just has the added benefit of making me better at my job.
Anyways... I am a ZHer but not at all like most of those you may see in the peanut gallery there... I mainly follow the site for their re-analysis of sell-side research / buy-side investor letters, unconventional analysis of econ data, etc... and the odd insightful pieces from 3rd parties. Love Jeff Snider of Alhambra's work - read him every day. I believe the shift in eurodollar system / funding dynamics is the key to understanding what's up with markets these days, and I find he's the best at breaking down some very nuanced relationships.
What else... I'm very anti-central planning, very pro-Hayek / sound money, etc. Have to thank my buddy Steve for introducing me to Austrian theory - only Wharton grad I know that came out believing in Austrian theory vs what faculty was jamming down their throats. I'm sure my views are going to be radically different from many others here - but wish everyone the best regardless.
