Hi,

I am a bit introverted as far as doing a lot of posting anywhere, but this seems like a healthy, friendly place. Thank you all for that.

I have been trading the index futures for a long time and have moved from a destroyer of money to a modest accumulator. I use ninjatrader, but am all ears as far as what smarter, more successful people are doing.

thanks

Hello!

I'm a chemical engineer, 57 years old, and getting ready to transition from a career in the oil business to semi-retirement and making money without being a slave to the alarm clock and a corporate cubicle. My wife and I are in a good financial position.

I've spent the last few years working as a risk management / safety engineer for offshore deep water drilling and lately with Texas non-conventional shale horizontal / frac wells. I've dabbled in stocks, mostly investment and IRA/401K accounts, and for the past few months I've been studying trading crude oil futures.

I evaluated Think or Swim and Ninja Trader, and I really like the feel of Ninja Trader so I'll go with that platform for now. I've read probably 50 books on trading, studying forums and chats, and I'm beginning to formulate a trading plan.

I still have a few months to get solid on my platform software, and I will convince myself I'm ready for live trading after I've proven myself on simulations.

This seems like a great place to learn, I just completed "The Crude Dude's" thread - WOW! Great stuff here!

Looking forward to future discussions

Hello all !, i tried connecting up to this site 144 days ago and had trouble with doing so, after many attempts and e-mails to Big Mike , and replacing my cable modem and switching over to chrome i;ve finally landed to my suprise. Well Im a semi retired 57 years old recently layed off from a contracting company after a steady 31 years in the field of commercial HVAC. I ve been actively persueing a trading vocation for after retirement in twelve months, for a couple of years now, only to supplement my pension. So now im contemplating whether to go to a full time trader for a living?Apprehension and pressure at the moment is putting a damper on it at the moment, so we shall see. Nice to be on board !!

Hi everyone.
I was an active trader 1999 until 2006 when I left trading to help a friend out for 2 weeks. That was 10 years ago. Tried to get back to trading in 2012 (when I originally joined this group) but never made it.
Now I'm trying again.
I'm sure the markets have changed a lot since I stopped trading and I will need to re-learn. I'm hoping gain some knowledge from this forum and share my previous experience.

Thanks

Ed

Hi All,
I have just joined this community as l have been recommended to this site to be the best to learn about Ninja trading platform.
My back ground is in MT4 where l learnt to trade to many up and downs and busted a few times.
MT4 has many limitations in it that at tick level there are no tools(orderflow) to analyse incoming data.
I am hoping that l learn the methods that of the members here who have kindly contributed knowledge and some being experts in Ninja scripting.
I have also seen a few utube videos about order flow concept looks to provide an edge as what the large traders are doing.
Remins to be seen if with own experience if orderflow does have an edge.
Love to carry on typing but not much to say for now.
Thank you
Raj
