Been trading for a year or 2, started with stocks and options, some frustration and lost money but have found a home in the futures market. For whatever reason I find it much more interesting than the former, although I still play options a little.

After tons of reading and browsing it is apparent this is one of the best sites out there for futures traders. Focused on the futures trading and no noise, BS, and chatter of so many of the other places. Looking forward to hanging out and being a part of it!

Jon

Cool, I am in the process of funding a new AMP account and planning on using TT - moving over from TOS for futures trading. I'm sure I will be bugging you!

You'll be no bother I'm sure and I encourage you to ask questions and provide feedback. BTW, I'm generally in the AMP webinars on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 3:30 CST. You can also reach me through twitter @patrickrooney.

Hi, my name is Joanna (Jo for short). I grew up on the East Coast, but am currently living outside of Seatte, WA..

I've been studying and trading for almost 2 years. I started with Stocks & ETF's and then Futures, but found that i like trading the FX market the best. I am currently invested (1 year) in MTI's Ultimate Charting Software, and although it has its shortcomings, I need to stick with it until February 2017.

I really like the Open Trader and have learned a lot from the videos and webinars. My biggest problem is finding a way to get Market Profile and TPO to work with my software. If there are any FX traders out there, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Thanks very much,
Jo.

Other than the problem you mentioned have you enjoyed the software? Have you used actively any other software?

Hello,

I'm a 40 yo men from France (apologies in advance for my poor english !)
I am new to this forum, but not to trading.
My trading experience :
I Did some french stock trading in the late 90's with some success (I have to admit it was quite easy then)
3 years ago, I began to trade european indexes, FDAX, FESX and FCAC mostly, and just resume from a one year break. Like I guess most of the people I lost some money and was lost in the "perfect indicator / strategy" quest and also a bit misleaded by people talking about trading without having a clue about it or just having something to sell;
I am happy to consider this is past.

I feel I gained some experience, on a technical and psychological point of view, but I know I still have a lot of work ahead on my way to consistant profitability.

Thanks to Big Mike and to all who contribute on this forum, I hope I will also be able to provide helpfull and relevant stuff

Hi,

I am brand new to the forum and quite new at trading. In fact, all I have done so far is lose money because I didn't know what I was doing. I also have some money invested in Optimarkets and I would like to get it back. It seems I may not be alone in that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i don't know where to post messages or how to know when I have replies. Really lost here, so...help!!!!

Hello fellow traders and aspiring to be. I am from a village in Ohio... yes a village 27 years old, 2 adorable baby girls and a loving wife... that puts up with more than she probably should, but we have been together for 10 years now, so I suppose she knows what shes in for Long story short, I transitioned out of the Army in 2013 after my 4 year enlistment and tour to Germany/Afghanaland then finished it out at Ft Bragg NC. Fun times - great memories and some not so great memories but life none the less. After leaving I moved back to good ole Ohio and worked at Siemens for a year or so until they downsized and I was left without a job. My stepmother and myself went to a stock trading seminar and ever since then it has been nose to the grind stone... Bloodshot eyes / Sleepless nights... literally and studying my ass off. I absolutely love watching price and finding what is significant and on what timeframe is in control. As much money as I have lost in the markets... most people would probably quit by now, but I know what the market is capable of giving and also taking away if one is not dedicated to discipline and following your rules you set for yourself and your system. I am not yet profitable in my trading but I feel I am close and can almost taste it. I have learned so much about myself since trading in the markets. One of my many issues that I face is OVERTRADING lol im sure there are many of us. I find what I think is significant on the higher timeframes and then zoom in to lower timeframes such as a 5 min or 1600 tik chart and it is like it puts you into a trance and you forget about where you are on the higher time frames. What I have been doing lately is finding levels on the 2hr 4 hr time frame and using the 30 min and 15 min to see if the areas I am looking at have already been tested. Patience and letting a trade come to me I think is my golden ticket. I am so excited to finally get it and understand my personality when it comes to trading and only trade when and where I want to in the price action. Plan it then trade it. I know what I want to do ... I just have to do it!!! I feel I over analyze often and that leads to overtrading or not taking a trade at all... because I am not sure if price will react where I think it should or have been burnt in the past and it sticks in the back of my head. These are some of the issues I face. I apologize for rambling on but it does feel great to get all this off my chest and out of my brain. I look forward to talking with you and would love to see some feedback. Have a great night/weekend. Talk to you soon! ... I guess I didn't make my long story short

Hi all,

I have been trading on and off for about ten years now and I have done all the usual beginners mistakes.
I find it fascinating that this is so hard and that keeps me motivated to succeed. What I have learnt so far is that simpler is often the better and to take small steps. Three steps forward, two steps back and so on.

To diversify, my plan is to do both swing trading and day trading, short and long setups and to do both automated and discretionary trading. All this in different future markets and equities.

Thanks for this great forum!

Best wishes, LedZep
