Hi all !

My name is Christoph iam now 28 years old and from Germany, near Frankfurt.
Iam casual trading now since 11 years but never got the time for doing it fulltime or more than 3 hours a day.
Now i want to make a change because iam employed only half-part time and want to trade the other 50%.
My vision is a more growing account than before.

I tradet the most of my time stocks, successful but not that "awesome" profitable.

Made my best trade with Nokia - bought them in 2012, because the offered their last chance to stay life - the Lumia phone. This phone runs out of stock in China in a few weeks and Nokia cant produce like they want to buy!
I bought the share at 1,63€ in November 2012. The Stock growth till march to 3,40€ - then Microsoft offered then final hit and want to merge with Nokia.
The stock jumped to 5,50 and i did a trade which i cant copy so easy in future i guess.

This allows me to open an account at IB and spend some money in Webinars and some other education.
Now i want also join a community to meet other traders virtual and stick and maybe trade sometimes together.

So far and massive success,
Christoph

Two steps forward, one step back which seems on par with y'all that are beginning. Love the psych forums!

My head is full in an energized way, so I must be in the right forums.

Cheers.

Hi.

I have been involved in trading off and on for several years. I started trading stocks and quickly moved to futures. I traded the German Bund and the Euro Stoxx and, now, I am focused on the US Treasury future (ZB). In the past, I utilized TradeStation and eSignal for charting and developing trading strategies and I now use NinjaTrader as both platform and brokerage firm.

My trading results have been somehow inconsistent. I used to swing trade, following trading systems I developed and backtested and relying on various charts and indicators. Nowadays, I scalp, leaning on order flow and depth of market information.

I am 57 years old, Italian, and my past, work experiences were in teaching and education. I am originally from Milano and, among other places, I lived in the US for a few years. In 2014, I moved to Torino, where I currently reside.

I'm in the early stages of transitioning from a Day Job to Trading full time. My bread and butter has been day trading equities of 1 and 5 minute charts on IB's TWS and for the past several months I've been building some algos in Python but not having much luck interfacing with IB.

But really, I'm at the stage where I have more questions than answers as I've been doing all this in a vaccuum. Am really looking for some kindred spirits and a Live trading room.

Like I said, lots of questions - about the platforms I should be using, how to move from stocks to futures effectively, how to run my trading like a business.

Really excited to find such a rich community here and looking forward to going through the material.

I'm guessing that Elite membership is worth it... what am I really missing by not paying for Elite?

Cheers!

I'm a retiree who invested in stocks in the past and want to become a furtures day trader to supplement my retirement income. I have all the time in the world.

I want to learn how to trade from someone but I am asking the forum here: what criteria should I use to satisfy myself that the person or method I choose to learn from is the real deal and that if I work hard will be able to teach me how to trade profitably. I don't want recommendations of teachers but an idea of what criteria I should use to make my choice.

Thank you very much in advance

Newbie3
