Little more than a beginner but still raw in trading. Blew my account couple of times. Started serious journaling on this forum 1 1/2 year back but after a string of losing trades decided to focus on learning more before journaling again. Back on this forum after a break..and enjoying it. Hope to learn and share and do better this time ( actually more a prayer than just hope). Style is more pure PA with MA added to it. Still not sure of my entries. They are either too early or too late. Got very good at drawing trend lines and am an expert EOD analyst

You can practise your skills all day long, but it's comparatively easy to get better at playing. The hard thing is to get better at winning--anonymous

Hello everyone,
Basically I learned about forex about 8 years ago. I have traded on and off, bought a number of programs that sounded good, went from no indicators to technical nerd and have settled more on price action, volume and asking myself, "what is the reason the market is doing what it is doing!" Consequently going from loosing trades to holding my own and now beginning to take profitable trades. Part of my problem was education, not because that is bad but because it gives a person a feeling of being smart, at least in my case. I literally had to learn to listen, surround myself with experienced traders, and even then develop my own feel for the market. I am a dentist, practicing 28 years, and my goal is not to get rich in forex but to provide a comfortable living consistently so I can finally go full-time forex. I have found that living in Central States I could become sleep deprived quite quickly if not careful. LOL I am 66 years old with a terrific family. I am grateful to Big Mike and those in this forum and hope to learn as well as share. May we all have positive trades!!

Hi everyone
I'm pretty new to Day trading and have not set up a live account yet. I've been through the shinny new object
phase and I'm trying to settle down and find a simple system that I can have confidence in. I hope to learn a lot
from all the experienced traders in this forum. I'm glad to be here.

Hi everyone,

Discovered this forum a week ago and like what I see, so decided to join.

Trade futures and options professionally since 2011, in CL and Brent. Do pretty well but ultimate goal is to be able to trade my own money successfully and go solo (work for myself, from home, keep 100% of the profits). Right now, still don't feel like I'm ready to make the leap.

Blew up a personal account a couple of times since 2009 - learned a lot since then, especially about risk and position management and what kind of trading style suits my psychology.

I favor methodical, rules-based systems of trading. My major pitfall tends to be that I often trade out of a toxic mix of fear and greed, especially fear, rather than keeping emotion out of my trading altogether.

I am a former airline pilot and former residential developer/contractor now taking on trading as my 3rd career.
I have to say that trading is the most difficult of the 3. After approx. 3 years of non-stop study and practice I am successfully day trading and swing trading stocks on a small scale...not trying to get rich quick. I am in the process of learning options and I recently added futures trading with the mini dow and mini russell.

I am a perpetual student and look forward to learning from this site.

David
