I quit smokin', I quit drinkin', I quit chasin' women - I even homeschooled my son 4 years and he graduated with a 3.5 gpa, which ain't so bad. Then i found

Logic is difficult for me, so writing algos needs special work. i can be immensely self-disciplined but I'm having trouble laying out a floorplan for my trading.

I'm trading by hand - no automation and I think automation is the only route really open to me. I spent 6 months with a demo then went live, but I was still dazed with the advertisers chants. I spent a few months consciously blowing my tiny ($ 100.00 USD) live account trying to figure out how things work. I'm learning to slow down and observe, but there's so much noise. Plus, it seems like most of the people posting in forums don't know how to spell the word "lose". It's not spelled "loosing"...

If I can contribute, I will. I'm 57, semi-retired, a single father of a wonderful son and I trade:

p.s. - how do I insert an avatar? i couldn't find an upload button...

I am new to trading on the ES using Ninjatrader and hoping to go live in the next few weeks now I'm showing signs of consistant trading (aiming for 2 points average) in sim. I am/was (hopefully) a 20 year vet IT guy and I don't normally get overloaded by anything technical however... I have never seen such an intimidating learning curve and so many products and approaches.

I'm taking the KISS approach with Bollanger, MACD indicators only and just studying price action, momentum and structure. Hope to post something helpful soon!

Dear Mike: I am not a day trader yet. I prepare to retire in 2 years. I will learn how to trade, both technically and spiritually. I just download Ninja Trader, and will practice to get familiar with Ninja Trader package. Thank you much for providing this forum. Best Regards, Dutabao1

I am fairly new to trading. I want to trade ES and options. Hopefully I can network with a few folks on here and we can all make some money. I am from south Louisiana. Thanks for allowing me to be here.

Hi everyone, I'm really glad to be joining this community, hope I can learn a lot and help some other people out too. I live in Vancouver so it'd be great to meet other Canadians as I'm sure we'll have some similar questions about trading from up here, not much choice in brokers, platforms and such. I will be trading futures contracts mostly, but right now I'm really new and still on a simulated account so lots to learn!

Hello all,

Moving more and more full time trader as time permits and business slows down, hoping trading income will replace business income in time, but we shall see, good weeks where I make wage easy and others well not so much.

Occasional bad days still happen where I get slapped badly, but less often and not as much damage so getting there.

I'm a M1 trader, not really a scalper though, 10min to 6 hour holds depending on the conditions sometimes even a week or 2, but only when I forget I've left a order open LOL

Hey guys,
My name is Jeff. I am 62. 1 wife, 5 kids, 9 grandkids, and some horses here in Kentucky. Been trading for 20+ years on and off. Started with futures and later switched to stocks. Hardest part is getting out of those losing trades and moving on. Money management is a big key to success. I am now retired and enjoying trading cash secured puts and covered calls. My goal is a 1% return per month return to help fund my grandkids college education. I am currently studying the Ichimoku cloud and I have a big library of trading books. I took one course by Options Xpress and currently use Trade King. Glad to be here.

I have been trading for only a year. About 1200 hrs of screen time in over the last 12 months. I have been all over the map, Daily to 5m. Looking for a fresh outlook and some consistency. Frankly I am sick of looking at charts and need some ideas.

Hello all. Name is Kurt, just joined a while back and am pretty much new to trading. Been soaking up all information possible and just now starting to do some sim trading. futures.io (formerly BMT) looks like a great resource and I will continue to use it to learn
