Hi

My name is Jim Mooney and I have been involved in the futures and options on futures trading industry for 30 plus years. It seems every year a new challenge (I read opportunity) surfaces. As the technical, regulatory and market shifts continue, I hope that I am able to contribute to success and viability of this great industry. I would welcome any questions or feed back that you may have.

Sincerely,

Jim Mooney

Hello,

I have been interested and part time studying the markets on and off for about 7 years now.
Due to my involvement in many other activities during my studies I have had breaks of a few weeks inbetween.

So far I have not decided on my final trading style yet but it will most likely end up to be methodical trading.
I have been testing a multitude of free systems with defined rules available on the internet but found most to be not worth a dime ...
I have been on a variety of forums too but agree with BigMike, most members there mainly try to bash others and not help.

I have mainly been watching FX but want to transition into Futures now due to the better regulation of the markets.

Currently, I spent a lot of time on my trading to get this going but will have to cut some time out very soon for other tasks I need to fulfill. So hopefully, it will work out .

I'm from Singapore and have been started to trade 3-4 years ago. Had some experience in options trading in US equity market and spot forex.

Came across this forum and get hooked with so much useful information. Really appreciate Mike for creating this awesome forum.

Started to get interested in futures trading recently, and watched some posts/webinars from Peter (Jigsaw), John (nobstrading) and FT71. I really being inspired by their trading style and will start to build my own trading methodology to suit my own personality.

Thanks and Happy trading!
-Albert-

Hey Everyone,

I'm based in Vancouver, Canada. While it's a beautiful city to live in, summers are great and I love the healthy lifestyle, it SUCKS for trading fx since most big moves happen in London session, unless you're trading Asian pairs and sometimes things move in NY on news.

I started trading back in about 2008 before the financial crisis, but back then I was an investor, buy and hold. It was only until a few years later that I met a family friend who was into trading and looking at charts and technical analysis. I thought the charts were so cool and pretty. Anyways I made and lost a fortune and the thing that hurt me most was when I got into options. Junior resource stocks also hurt me as commodities crapped out and I saw some penny stocks get delisted so I lost my entire investment in them. I started trading currencies about 2 years ago. I've had success on and off but I think the biggest trading lesson I've had is that I was the most important key to my success. Of course having a reliable system helped but no matter what the system was, if I didn't have the discipline and right mindset I would sabotage myself anyways. Now risk management, trade management, planning, cutting losses short are crucial to me. I wish I didn't have to learn the hard way but I did, like many traders out there. I've probably spent well over $25000 in courses and newsletters and you know what, 95% of them were junk. A very small minority of what I spent money on was actually helpful. I've been through many cycles of blown accounts, most of them small but my main stock market account - with the amount of money blown, if I wasn't a spiritual person I would have committed suicide because of it. However I believe in cleaning up my own mess. I will set things straight.

My method now is a combination of what works for me. I've just been taking a lot of time to get my head straight and put my plan into place before I go live again. I'm currently using a trading coach.

A friend in Hawaii told me about this great website and I see that the videos on it are above average.

Happy trading!

Take care,
Ed
