New to web site and have been in markets since 2007.

I buy and hold equities that pay dividends in my IRA and only trade 10-30% of account total.
Only buy 50 shares of 1 company.

My cash account I trade ES and have been in the minus but majority of time it was going in my direction but get stopped out. I have watched many 30 and 50 point if not more moves in ES in my direction I bought or sold short.
My focus is on TPO Profiles and order flow for confidence to hold onto a trade. I trade the ES in my cash account so I do not have to deal with the accounting at end of year with equities and the ES has a lot of liquidity.

I have paid for stock picks in the past years and that never works out. When you do your own research and pick your own it seems to work.

If there is any discussions here on TPO's and order flow I would love to read up on it but I will not pay for someones proprietary software sorry no disrespect but I would be broke if I bought everyone's service.

Thank you,
Kevin

Hello Everybody!

I am new here to futures.io (formerly BMT) and fairly new to trading in the live markets. I have been doing research on the stock market since high school. I am now after a year and a half of college in the position to start trading in the live markets.

My focus has been on the s&p emini futures contract, trading through Think or Swim (I know a lot of people dont like it but it works for what I need right now charting wise)

I have been back testing and working out some flaws over the past few months and have a very good method with excellent back testing results, I just cant seem to completely get over the emotional hump which causes me to enter or exit a trade at a time I dont want to instead of just sticking to my method.

I am only trading one contract right now until I dial in my method and trying to limit my loss to 500$ which I have touched a few times and ran back close to positive, to just fall back again.

I have already found a few sub forums that I can tell I will be spending a good chunk of time in and I thank everyone in advance for the help!

If you are trading thinkorswim look up verniman under mytrade in thinkshare and follow him.
He is good at ES levels with profiles and orderflow. On your DOM customize to show volume and trade count.
I use TPO profiles , macd, slow stochastics, moving average two lines on chart, Daily open, Linear regression 100.

If you follow shadowtrader you can set up breadthbubbles and valuearea pivots from his web site.

I have a nice set up but I am thinking of leaving TOS . I have locking up problems with software and leaning towards Ninja Trader.

Hello all,

I long to be a disciplined and profitable trader.

A couple months ago I graduated the College of Trader Development program at TopStep Trader. That was a great experience and I learned a lot of great information from my teachers Mike Arnold and Bob Iaccino. I had no previous experience in trading before I took the class and everyday I am learning how to become a better trader.

I know what my weaknesses are and I am working on them everyday. I am a sucker for aggressive emotional candles and getting in them too early, hoping they will go to target but then getting burned when the suddenly reverse on me. When I do wait and enter based on my strategy I get scared and usually exit too early.

I am working the most on sticking to my strategy and letting the process happen. I know it is an internal issue and I am working hard to change my behavior patterns.

I hope this forum can help me with the internal issues I am facing. I look forward to being a part of this community.

My name is Terry.

I live in the High Desert of New Mexico.

I am Self employed / 66 yrs. / Single / Live alone (except for Garbo, my Female, black,5 yr.old Standard Poodle)

Started trading Feb.2012 and I am a fairly active trader.

I trade a lot of OTC stocks & stay under $5-$6/share, for the most part.

I have a few stocks I am Long in, one of which I am VERY heavily invested in & I am up over over 300% on it (unrealized) over the last 2 yrs.- I have been Green in this stock every day since my first purchase of it 2 yrs.ago & expect it to move from OTCQB to AMEX this Yr.

Since I am self employed, some trading days I can be on computer during Mkt. Hrs.- other days not. Those days it is iPhone 5s access only.

I look forward in 'meeting' many of you in the Forums.

Hi Everyone,

I'm glad to have found this place and hope I can learn a lot here.

There is so much information on this forum that it's a little overwhelming. With persistence, I'm sure I will learn.

Thanks again for such wonderful place.

Hi everyone,

I've been trading for almost 25 years on and off. My main interest is options and volatility trading. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on training, mentoring, and books. None of those by themsleves have helped me hit it big. I'm still struggling but slowly getting better at avoiding the instant riches hype and putting in the work to develop my trading style.

Retired Canadian engineer trading options (mainly high probability OTM credit spreads and iron condors). I use Interactive Broker for trades and TOS for charts and option trade analysis.
