Thanks to Mike for creating this forum and letting me in. I'm new to this forum but not trading. I traded in the late '90s after receiving info from a guy with a cowboy hat from Oregon, LOL. I did very well but then blew out my account.

Then I came across Marcello Arrambide's site, The Wandering Trader, and his other site, The Day Trading Academy, and have followed his site and read the DTA emails. It piqued my interest in trading again.

I've since done my research on DTA and I am now looking at Mack's Price Action Trading as well as Al Brooks' books and video course.

If you were just starting again, what would you do to get started?

A buddy of mine and I are considering buying and reading Mack's PAT manual, getting a demo of Ninja Trader, and practice simulated trading for 2-3 months in eminis until we have established consistency. Then open an account with $2,500 each and begin trading one contract, risking no more than $50 per day to make $100. The objective is to make 2 points consistently with one contract and then eventually scale up.

I welcome any advice, criticism or suggestions. Thank you.

Newbie here,

I like the friendly vibe of these forums and the deep knowledge base the users seem to have. I've been researching trading strategies for quite a while now and am currently working on developing a system for trading e-mini futures. Just downloaded NinjaTrader today. Hoping to get some good ideas from you all and I'm looking forward to getting involved with the community.

Thanks,
zlarin

Hi I have been struggling trading for years. I am looking to improve my trading. I have just moved to Tradestation and am considering purchasing the 3 better indicators on the emini watch website. I am also new to Futures trading as I have given up on stocks.

Hello there!

I have been involved in automated trading for a couple of years, looking to improve knowledge and master other trading platforms and strategies and speak to like minded and intelligent people.
Cheers!

Hello... I have been seriously trading for over 4 years. I have blown several accounts, they are my biggest teachers. I am interested in the Wyckoff Method. Started to read David Wies' Trades About to Happen, but no where near the end yet. I do use volume spread analysis and still finding my way.

Hi Mike,
I'm not really a day trader.
I take a longer term approach and will trade a monthly channel or try too get out at a peak, in at a trough, etc.
I enjoy the tools available here but try not to overdo it with indicators.
I guess I have a low risk tolerance. Just wondering, how many gamblers in the group?

Hi all,
I'm not a trader yet, but trading on demo for about 1,5 years. I trade FX on daily charts but I feel and know I miss something because I am not consistent and lack of system. Hopefully I will find some help in these forums
Thank you!

I just joined this forum. Thanks to Mike for his hard work running this forum as well. I have been sim trading off and on for a few years and have done some live trades. Options and ETFs mostly. Recently started trading Iron Condors. Will see how that goes. Anyway, looking forward to using this forum some more. :-)

Hello,
I just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I've been trading (inconsistently) for a few years now, mainly forex and more recently stocks. I stopped trading forex about a year ago due to time constraints with my work.

Now I'm looking to build my portfolio to be able to start day trading and make a living out of it.

Feel free to send me a message if anyone wants to talk stocks.

Al
