Hey all, I was first introduced to forex trading in 2006, but traded actively for a little time in 2008. Couldn't maintain the pace due to my academic pursuit.

Introduced into the world of futures in 2012/2013. I will be rounding up my schooling (Advance) soon, So I really want to take trading serious. Al brooks, Alexander elder and PATs system are my favorite books. I've absorbed the much I can and I'm still in the process.

Guess that's it for now. Wud be hanging around. Thank you Big Mike and the other great contributors for making this forum one of a kind.

Regards,
Leadzeal

Hey Everyone. I've been playing around with stocks for sometime now. I have seen many advertisements for systems out there that guarantee success. Although I have been tempted to purchase a couple of these, I have refrained. I was really glad to find this blog and look forward to increasing my trading knowledge. Thanks

Hi all

Well I am still a newbie with only a year's worth of learning and I expect to learn a great deal more.

I have been reading quite a bit and playing around in a live account and this year I hope to crack the whip as far as the trading is concerned.

I hope to learn a lot more as the old saying goes "You are never too old to learn.."

Hi everyone!

I just joined Big Mike's family. I live in Tampa, FL and I officially made a career change from IT industry to the trading industry. I began learning about futures around 1998 after receiving a pamphlet from Ken Roberts. I became real interested in the futures markets, but I did not have money to invest in education. About a year later, I purchased TWMPMM I & II from Ebay. Then, the TWMPMM Workshop Videos. After studying all these material for months after work, I purchased six small pamphlets from Burton H Pugh to trade wheat.

Once I felt ready, I started to read other books, online videos, etc. Around 2001 I opened my first account through Lind Waldock. I only traded wheat at the time. I made money and a few months later I'd lost it all. I got disappointed, could not afford to lose more money, so I stopped for a few year.

Eventually, I was drawn back to the markets. I followed Oil prices during the Iraq war and was cutting my veins. I kept on learning from the subject. Around 2008 I opened an account with Lind Waldock, again. I made a few good trades and made some good money trading Wheat, Swiss Franc, USD, 10 Yr T-Note. At this point I was not disciplined using stop losses and I learned an incredibly valuable lesson. Don't ask, but for some reason this had to happen to learn the lesson. Another hard hit. I was upset but unable to justify funding another account.

I was drawn back to the markets and in 2009 I attended a Larry Williams Art of Short Term Trading seminar in PA. I opened a trading account through PFG and purchased Trade Navigator from Genesis, and began trading. The company I worked for started to lay-off people, outsourcing jobs to India, and after a few months I closed the account to avoid from having loses. Later, the shut down of PFG.

In 2013 I opened another account through Interactive Brokers, continue to use Trade Navigator and here I am! This time there is no way back. I am committed to succeed. I am always open to suggestions and try new things.

Cheers
Julio

Hi, my name is Bill. I have been an underactive member for a year or so, but now want to join for more in-depth networking on trading systems, etc.

I was told on another forum outside BM, that someone here could tell me what the formula is for the calculation of the Acc./Distr. rating that Investors Business Daily uses in it's data base. Not the ranking A-E, but the actual formula for the underlying: such as: decl. vol./adv. vol. or whatever. Who is the brainiac on Big Mikes that would know this? Thanks for all your help in past, and I look forward to meeting many more traders here in the future. Bill

PS. the formula I am looking for would take account of bid and ask volume, also. (not sure if the IB version does so).
