Hi All!

I'm very excited to be part of a trading community. I'm pretty new to day trading, so I might not have much input at first. I came here after viewing a few of Big Mike's webinars. I could see the effort and passion Big Mike put into those webinars and came here in hopes to find others who share that kind of passion for day trading.

Just before wrapping up my undergrad in statistics, I had the opportunity to get exposure to day trading and became very interested. I understand that it will take some time, but I'm willing to work hard and dig deep to become a successful day trader. I'm interested in trading futures on the T4 platform and wish to focus on lower volume markets that have smoother price curves. Then again, I could trade high volume markets at night lol. There's a quote that I love which highlights what attracts me to day trading:

"The game of speculation is the most uniformly fascinating game in the world. But it is not a game for the stupid, the mentally lazy, the person of inferior emotional balance, or the get-rich-quick adventurer."
- Jesse Livermore

Looks like I have a lot of character to build. Game on!

The name is Fer, and I currently live in Miami, FL. I graduated with an undergraduate in finance but right after college moved to South America to play professional soccer. A couple of surgeries later I've had to quit on sports and now I am working at a big bank on the Wealth Management side to make some money while I learn to trade as I'm passionate about numbers (majoring in math starting next semester) and fast paced environments and adrenaline.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Hi Everyone,

Nice to meet you all. My name is Stanley Chan, I'm from Hong Kong. I've been a full time trader for 5 years and decided this is my career for the rest of my life. My native language is Chinese (simplified or traditional), english I understand most of it except local slangs.

I came here is for continue my learning in trading and share opinions(if any useful). I trade mainly intraday HangSeng Futures and ES but not often. futures.io (formerly BMT) is a non-profit making forum/site that I think is a right place for professionals to share experiences!

BTW, feel free to let me know if there's any hep for translation chinese and english.

Happy New Year!!

Stanley/Hong Kong

Hello,

I'm returning to trading in the new year after a 12 month break.

I have a few years of trading experience, with various levels of success. I started out daytrading and lost a little money, then moved to swing trading and made some money. The higher the timeframe and the less often I trade the more profitable I seem to be, so now I'm focussing on holding positions in ETFs and just rebalancing the portfolio at the end of every month.

Although I won't actually be trading very actively, I'm hoping that joining this forum and discussing ideas will help to keep me engaged with the markets.

Regards,

DV

I've not properly introduced myself to the forum, yet been a member for a while now.

I live in China, Canadian by birth, former perm res of Australia for 8 years before being seconded to China with a large multi national food manufacturer.

I've since retired after 20 years in the food industry to consult and trade equities and futures.

I have approximately 7 years of trading experience, mostly EOD equities (mechanically/systematically). The last two years i have been learning and trading futures...mostly on the NT and IB sims.

After a year through a new beginners cycle I've settled (for months now) on volume profile for my market structure tool, and the order flow for decisions and execution. I think it no coincidence that many of the discretionary traders here are using market/volume profile tools for the market structure and the order flow/DOM for execution.

Great forum, lots of great posters, and a great host....thanks and all the best for the New Year.

XS (Steve)

Good Morning all,

Been a buy and hold stock guy for many years so earlier this year started with equity options. Have made a few bucks from time to time but end up giving it back at some point. If the market would only act the way I think it should, I would be just fine. Until then, I'll need to start picking up some ideas from folks that have been in the game longer than I.

Glad to be here,

Chris

Hi Mike and fellow traders.
Firstly, thanks Mike for setting this forum up and having the good sence to apply some guidelines (rules) for your users. I haven't been a big forum user in the past because they do seem to be full of misguided questions and not always, but often some rude or condesending 'answers'. I'm looking forward to being involved in this one and hopefully giving as much as I recieve.
My story is similar to Mikes' and to that of most new traders. I've been at it for two and a half years now (maybe intermediate is a bit ambitious?) and have blown up accounts, neglected stop losses, and hoped, feared and denied my way through quite a lot of money. It's been an expensive tuition fee but my losses are getting smaller, my gains are getting bigger and my plan is getting tighter.
My favourite trading author is the world famous Jack. D. Schwager. I've learned more from his Market Wizards series than I can express here and will re-read them again and again. I'm working my way through his more technical work, but personally put a higher priority on my own personal psychology than I do on technique. If the proverbial monkey throwing darts could out trade me, then my enemy is certainly within.
I subscribe to a financial writer/ trader called Stephen Jennings for a daily report and a pretty good overview of fundamental goings on. I also follow Jamie Saettele from Daily FX for some good ideas (and quite frankly for guidance) on the technical side. His book is also ok, but gets a bit 'listy' from time to time. I'm getting into a book at the moment on game theory. I won't comment on it just yet, but I think this is a really valuable way to learn how to think for a trader. I also play chess and poker (my WSOP name is MeerCat) for fun, but also because I regard these two as ideal brain training games for traders.
I trade with FXCM using tradestation. I think it's a great piece of software, but then I haven't shopped around all that much.
Well that's me. I look forward to swapping good ideas with y'all.
Micah.

Hi all.. I’m part time day trader trading high beta stocks like AAPL GOOG mostly weeklies options ,strait calls ,puts. I don’t use any indicators and Im using only supply and demand lines which I manually draw on my charts + volume . After over 10 years of trading I found that all indicators are useless (you have to keep changing them according to market condition which are ever changing.
I think by sharing your staff with others you are the one who’s going to benefit from it the most .
Happy new year.
Vit
