Hi, i am managing and trading since 25 years. I lost a lot of money, won even more (thanks lord) and i am trying to trade a little differently these days to take less risk, learn different things, and keep my brain alive.

Im a 24 years old student and have been trading for about 5 years now. My stocks of choice have been good and well known companies that have slowly lost value as well as growth stocks. I am interested in figuring out what the next big gainer will be. I have read The Intelligent Investor.
I am 23 years old, or young, depending on how you see it, and I am an accounting student, after working and studying electrical engineering for 2 years and decided enough was enough. I am fairly new to trading in terms of live experience.
I have traded equity ETOs on the ASX, as well as forex and binary (all or nothing) options.
Each time I made an attempt at live trading I was under-capitalized so I have returned back to learning and self education and sim/paper trading.
After being recommended futures trading by John Grady (website link deliberately left out, I'm unsure whether it's ok to post links to vendors) I read his ebook and realised futures are a much better instrument to trade than forex and options, due to various reasons.
I live in Australia at home with my mum and older sister, and was mostly raised by a single mum. I have a love of birds and fish animals, and am especially fond of rainbow lorikeets and Sea Monkeys (shrimp anyone? LOL!)
I joined this forum a LONG time ago, and decided to take the plunge and introduce myself instead of lurking....
Reason for lurking is because I felt my experience and knowledge would not be valuable for anyone to learn from, and I realised that this is a silly thought.
No matter what a person's background or knowledge, they can always teach you something about life.

I have watched many webinars on futures.io (formerly BMT) over the past year or so, and have finally signed up for my account. I recently graduated from University of Illinois in Champaign, IL in May '12. I discovered a passion for trading about 6 years ago and have been focused to become a trader ever since then. For my last semester in school, I discovered the TopStep Trader program and became involved. I did a lot of development with my trading plan and work on my real time decision making while in that program. Upon graduation, I found a job day trading stocks at a prop firm in Chicago. I love my job and am really working hard to be the best trader I can be, and I have hit many snags a long the way. I have been working long days, reviewing everything I did each day after the market close. I think that if I continue working this hard, I will get much better and my hard work will be rewarded. I have received a lot of help from many of the different webinars I have found on this website, along with different trading blogs I read daily. There is still plenty for me to learn and I try to learn something new every singly day. I believe that hard work will pay off and I know that I will become a great trader one day and be able to help other developing traders find their way to success.
I know very little about the markets, I want to learn and will take advice and want to get advice, what are some of the best books or computer programs out there that will help me learn and grow. I want to trade the eminis. Thanks in advance. I am signed up for thinkorswim by tdameritrade
I want to express my appreciation for all your postings - thank you. In my short time here I have already learned a great deal and have only just scratched the surface. I am especially grateful for the friendly environment since other sites tend to be borderline hostile to an open exchange of information, especially with new traders.
The financial markets and trading are very new to me and I am embarking on an adventure to potentially make this a career. A couple months ago I threw myself into massive learning mode and have been absorbing as much information as I can. I have yet to even allow myself to download a trading platform, although it will very likely be NT. However, at this point I feel like I am at least on the right track in my education - focusing heavily on a solid foundation with risk management and proper trading psychology at its core. I have avoided spending money on my education quite well so far with this forum being my biggest single expenditure, along with a fair number of books that I have steadily digested (just finished "Trading in the Zone"). Not to mention what seems like a thousand hours of internet digging. I have much to learn still.
I am extremely fortunate to have had my first baby join my family recently (Amazing little girl!), as well as a half year that I can devote entirely to my family and learning to trade, without the distraction of a "normal" job. I don't think many people get this opportunity and as cliché and possibly naïve as it seems, I intend to use it to chase a dream of trading full time. Sure, that may be too short of a time frame to overcome that 95% failure rate but it's at least a good start!

I don't feel like I have a lot to offer in posting to this forum yet, other than maybe generating a few laughs from the experienced traders watching me stumble about on my way to consistency. But I do believe in paying it forward, so when I can offer something worth reading, I will begin posting more. I will be posting a journal at some point, but until then thank you for allowing me to lurk and learn.
I'm a 34 old guy from Germany, so pls apologize my English, I hope every thing I'll write can be understood.
First I was interessted in investing in stocks when I lost 7k Deutschmark and recognized that the bank clerk didn't know much more about stock and funds than me. Then I started studying the markets, stock, etc. First I began with Graham and Buffet and until now a lot of books are read (TA, Candlesticks, fundamental research, VSA. Market wizards, Pitbull, ...). I started slowly and become more and more interessted and then I was hooked.
This year I felt like I made a monsterjump im my development because I met some interessting people which gave me some advices and I it was much better than reading tons of books. Thatswhy I join this community - to create a winwin-situation- to learn and maybe to teach or share some experience. In addition I hope to improve my English skills .
My main focus now is trading US stocks and etfs as swing trades or day trades. I trade swing trades with real money and daytrade with a papertrade-account with NT7. I mainly use S/R zones, trendlines and VSA and work on the market profile and for visualization I use some Ema's.
My aim in trading is to become a consistent profitable trader. At this point of time I'm far away from this aim.
My aim in in life is to make a living by trading for all the good reasons. First in working as trader partime and later switching to fulltime.
Maybe it is possible to work for a propshop and learn the market maker game, because that you cannot really simulate.
I hope that is enough for a first time introduction. I'm pleased about any hints and advices and will answer any questions.

Allow me to intoduce myself. I've been trading for more than a year full time. Before that, I've done some options trading for a few years. Now I'm involved only with futures day trading. I do believe in a one market principle. Unfortunately, I still lose more than I make. There are periods when I make money - it can be weeks, but then comes along some stupid move followed by a large loss that sweeps away all past earnings. I'm conducting a journal, and I'm trying to learn to master my emotions, but then my weaknesses and failures as a human being take the upper hand. However, I'm trying to evolve as a trader and I find myself gradually shifting from daytrading to swing trading. Maybe taking decisions at a slower pace, and holding positions longer would have a better fit with my personality. So, as you see although I consider myself experienced, judging by the losses I've taken, and by time spent - all in all some intensive 5 years, I'm still struggling. If anyone has any tip about mastering emotions in trading, any help will be appreciated!!!
