Hi Everyone!

My day job is a bond trading, but I recent started trading equities on the side using 100% technical analysis. For equities, i swing trade using daily charts and most of the setups i use are simple with-trend pullbacks and breakouts from coils.

I'm learning a lot reading threads in this site. I hope to learn a lot on price action here. I'm pretty much interested in losing those indicators in my charts. Also, I've started reading some book suggestions I've seen here such as books by Al Brooks and Suri Duddella. They are gems indeed.

Hello Big Mikes Trading Forum
I have been trading for 15 years or more. Started out by getting a flyer in the mail from a man named Ken Roberts. Bought everything he had to offer on trading. The material had me pretty pumped up, Thought I knew all I needed to know to get in there and make millions of dollars. After putting some money in account all I had to do is cash in and I was successful at first just did not have the good cents to take profits when I had them. I would be up one day $3000.oo and then hang in there thanking it go higher only to see it go agents me $3000.oo the next day. This happened to me more than once. Then I found out what a crop report was- only cost me another $3000.oo. Had a broker practically begging me to take $2000.oo in profits in Natural Gas, (You had to call all your orders in back then) but no I thought it would go higher. And this is just a little of what all I went through in learning the trading business. These was all before computers, got my daily, weekly and yearly chart sent to me in the mail every day. I was not even aware that you could trade on intraday data at that time.
After I got though that part of my trading education I bought a trading course from a man named David Duty called Common $ence Commodities, Help me a great deal, then I went to the internet and looked up everything I could find on trading. I learned a great deal from Linda Raschke at LBR Group, read everything she put on the internet. I have read countless books on trading and watched hours of videos. I have also joined a couple trade rooms primarily to get to talk to other trader that shares the same interest. Before I joined a trade room I had never talked to another trader successful or other wise and to this day have never met one in person.
I have become a bit of an expert at trading Crude Oil and got a pretty good handle on a few other markets as well. I do not say these lightly for if I had to do it all over again knowing what I would have to go through to get where I am now I would not do it. Don’t get me wrong I love trading I just had to go through a lot of years of struggle to get where I am today. Like I said at the beginning I have been trading for well over 15 years most of which it cost me more than money every year yet I keep going.
For those who are interested I have A YouTube site with free information on trading; No string attached. I have nothing to sell or anyone to promote, just like sharing so other may not make the same mistakes I did.

Hope this helps

Welcome DDavid!

It took me years to get over what I learned (incorrectly) from Ken Roberts. I still remember being sucked in 20+ years ago by his Sugar trade...

Hi people,

I'am new to daytrading. I started with the idea a month ago and as the rest of the beginners I'am sim'n al lot. I have devolped (with the help of all you guys that share your knowledge on the internet) a setup that works well in sim mode. I just did my first succesful live trades yesterday so I'am doing my first baby steps... I have some experience in stock trading & TA but timeframe was totally different than daytrading, I feel I have a lot to learn.

Because I have my own company in datamining, financial consildation and being a .net developer, having my masters in math, I am naturly drawn to the world of digits, math & programming. I work from home last 10 years. For me there is nothing better to work from home and seeing your kids growing up. So I see daytrading as a exention what I do at this moment.

I think I can contribute as member. I like to program in VB or C# and already have developed some indicators for NT7 like a Volumespeed, OBOS, latency indicator (mostly T&S datarelated).. etc.. also I'am testing my setup in a automated strategy. This automated strategy performs less well compared to a manual execution, so work in progress here..

In this forum I hope to learn about daytrading but I also willing to share!

I've been stalking this site for a couple of weeks. Someone mentioned it in one of the Kitco forums, so I thought I'd give it a look. I really like the personal experience everyone shares here. I take trading very seriously. I've been trading for around 5 years, but have taken a hiatus due to the recent passing of my soul mate. So until I get my focus back in place I'm enjoying reading all that is shared in this forum. I find myself saying - Been there. Done that! - to so many posts. I watch all the currencies, indices, treasuries and metals constantly. I've only in traded gold. I'm still very spooked by the crimes of MFGlobal and PFGBest etc. Until I get my confidence in the place where it needs to be I'll sit on the sidelines and paper trade.

Aloha and thanks for this site BigMike!

Hello Big Mike and all ,

I have been trading since 2001 crash. first equities and then options. All those times I had no plans or strategies .
So naturally I lost of money and have since looked into futures for the holy grail. Again I came to realize after blowing several accounts that it's not simple as it's made out to. During this process I joined several chatrooms and trading gurus. Still havent got it nailed down. I went from losing a lot and now not so much. I am positive most days but give it all up on fridays and news events. I need to work on decipline and following my rules. I think I need
to learn a lot and I feel your site is just that. I also realize that its the price pattern that matters and not the indicators. I am not a quitor and feel each loss is one step closer to prefecting my strategies. I hope to learn and become a better trader and go to the next level .

Thanks for reading.
