I am from India and have been trading in the Indian markets for the last 5 years.

Blew away my complete initial capital in the markets at the beginning of 2008 due to overconfidence and relying on tips from friends, brokers, financial newspapers and television channnels.

Started learning technical analysis on my own - tried several analytical tools and have finally found confidence in the RMO technique (Rahul Mohinder Oscillator). Have started testing NinjaTrader recently. Hoping to learn a lot through this forum from experienced traders across the world

Hi all,

I am a retired software developer and have been trading since 2010. I have mostly traded ETF's and Options in my equity account. Lately I have been focused on using robots and EA's in my Forex account, and i am working on developing my own EAs using MT4.

I have mostly just broken even in my trading so far, but have had some good success in the past.

I am happy to join this forum and hope to share my success with others.

Good luck to all.

Philip

Hello all,

I'm new to NT, and Big Mike's forum comes up on many Google searches, so thought I'd join and give it a go.

I've traded for years, using hand-built charting/prediction/signaling tools that I wrote in Java and Perl mostly.

I've got some experience with C#, and that's helping me get to know NT.

I'm most interested in developing strategies, and find the Strategy/Indicator classes a bit overloaded, like they needed to be broken up into a few handfuls of smaller classes. But that's not the reality, so I'm looking at developing a strategy/position-monitoring framework that makes those two a little more manageable.

I'd appreciate any pointers on that last point, if something open source is already in circulation that you think I should know about. Looking to combine indicators that work across different timeframes - minutes and days, for example.

Thanks to Big Mike for making this forum, looks great.

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking around on futures.io (formerly BMT) and it's been really interesting to see how different people approach trading differently. I've been investing for the past 6 years, but mainly stocks & various option strategies. I'm looking to learn more on short-term trading, particularly with futures.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I´m from Bavaria, Germany.
Some years ago I did some "serious" investing and blew it all up. Had to leave the market and came back eventually, to look from distance. Read a couple books and running on both, simulated and live accounts again.
Taking advantage from basic analys., like trend & rebounds, nothing fancy. Focus is now on the important points like money & risk management.

Looking for some mental backup

Hey futures.io (formerly BMT) members!

I have been trading in the forex market very regularly for almost a year now. It's been a long road of learning to follow rules and get past the emotion that trading certainly evokes. In fact, depending on how the market moves this week, I will just now be breaking even after losing several $$$ over the past ten months...

I have only used NT for my trading, but I'm starting to look into MC. I'm not a programmer, and my strategy requires complex (complex to me) coding to backtest due to NT's intra bar limitations. I hope to become a full time trader, but it's gonna take quite a bit more time and energy (not to mention many, many questions) before I get there.

Anyhow, I look forward to learning and exploring with all of you!

G'day to all!

I live in QLD Australia and looking forward to checking out the information on this website.

I like to trade the forex and use MT4 platform but am only using the demo platform at this stage.

My preference is to trade 4 hourly, Daily & upward since I do not want to spend too much time sitting waiting for entries & closure of trades.

Thanks Big Mike for you commitment in setting up and maintaining this site!

Yep, I've been lurking in this forum for way too long and not contributing and that simply has to change

I'm an Englishman in New York as the song goes and have been working as a broker in the institutional interest rate derivatives markets for the last twenty years. I recently became part of a downsizing (it's rough out there) and decided to begin my dream of trading for a living sooner rather than later.

I have traded my own account for around 10 years now and have watched my accounts bounce around with no consistency whatsoever; making six figures then giving it all back, but never quite blowing up. I began to take it more seriously around 2007, just in time to watch the markets meltdown and began to concentrate on what I deemed to be important to my long term survival. Price action, strong money management, identifying and kicking bad habits. Getting rid of indicators and trading in the here and now, journalling my trades (no matter how ugly) and learning from my mistakes. learning patience has been really hard but I'm getting there.

I have traded profitably for the last five years but now I need to take it to the next level. I am over 50 years old and wonder how many of you have made it at such a tender age. Does age make any difference in making the transition? Can you teach an old dog new tricks?

Thank you Big Mike for creating this treasure chest of a resource. It's been no end of help to me and I am sure to many others. Thank you to all the regular contributors that share so freely such valuable nuggets of information. You are all so generous.

So, from now on, I intend to stop lurking and start contributing.

I've been day trading, when time permits, for a year (investing far longer) at the office - - mostly tna and tza, but not with a serious enough focus to have been successful. Now that I am retired, I will trade more full time - see what I can do. I'll graduate to index futures soon; and am interested in finding a proven/reasonable futures broker. I'll start out small and take my time. My investment account is with Ameritrade/TOS, but I understand they may not be the best for futures trading. Thanks Mike for hosting this forum - I look forward to learning and participating.
