Hi, I'm Johan.

Been in this game on and off for about ten years, last year focusing on it more or less full-time. I've done all the de-tours that many others have talked about as well, clueless in the beginning, then found out about Elliot Wave only to realize many years later that [at least for me] it detracts more from my ability to trade successfully than it adds.

A traders own psychology is what determines his/her success, "knowing" everything about the markets isn't enough. (Knowing more isn't always better :-)
I've learned this through my own experiences, and then delved deep into it thanks to reading "Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas. (Highly recommended!)

So now I'm beginning to see the light and the end of the tunnel, learning to trade by looking at the Market Auction process with Market Profile.

I'm also a skilled software developer, having done some custom indicators/strategies in NinjaTrader for myself. Haven't come across a strategy that I would auto-trade live yet, the trouble is obviously to discern when a market is trending versus consolidating/going sideways...

I am Walrus the Pig
I have been trading the markets since very very long (2002)
And a big fool
Lost many accounts
never learnt by mistakes
was happy to commit the same mistakes again and again
never respected any trading system
I have tried almost all the platforms
and most of the brokers
I never read any book completely I just starts reading and left and jumps to other

I start trading with one system and never respected entries and exits
I never maintained any discipline while entry or exit
Trading gives you freedom I have misused up to the hilt
I never maintained any money management
I have lost considerable amount of money

Try to set up a semi automated execution on your platform - this will take some of you (your emotions) out of the equation.

Hi ALL,

Seems like I have found the Holy Grail of Traders and Programmers alike....
I have browsed the site and awesome..
I stumbled onto this site from NinjaTrader and all I can say is AWESOME....
Very intuitive intellectual people with my common goal Making Millions....
I decided at 40 years old after 40 years of mistakes to go after my dream since I was 16
years old, watching cnbc and wishing I had tradestation...
1yr ago I stumbled onto FXCM and StrategyTrader found out then that I had to learn to program in C# so off I go on a slow journey albeit to learn C#... then to my disbelief FXCM abandons StrategyTrader....
So as my novice programming has come along....I Find NinjaTrader after all I am now a year into.... the programming and have a fair grasp on the Core concepts of C# and can write simple programs...
Also doing... the codecademy for javascript...
Also been working on Strategies and Running through Quite a Few demo accounts since they do expireI and I slapped blowed them out ....in the beginning to Now thinking I am gonna be alright in the Knowing that the next trade ain't guaranteed and better tighten those stops....
Soo now here I am planning to open this $250 micro account with Fxcm....
Would be more but gotta get that ninjatrader license...
IMHO ninja trader is the most potentially powerful trader oriented platform out there. After all it is being built by traders like yourselves for traders...
I have also noticed through this +1yr journey is that ultimately I will be the last decision maker in my trade entry
process...I however am working on tradeautomation...but I am the end resort to enter or not enter based on automation...meaning making the final say....I feel that with the wonderful technological smartphone my dream is about to become a reality...WISH ME LUCK!!!! and last but most important PRAY FOR ME!!

Ohh and yes 250 micro ya know the misses

Hi all,

Came across this forum when I found a FuturesTrader71 video on YouTube that was hosted by Big Mike. I really like the webinar and so thought I would pop into the forums.

I'm based in the UK and got into trading a few years ago via Spread Betting and CFD's, before finding Forex, which I then traded using Ninjatrader.

Unsurprisingly I blew up my first account taking a large hit. I ended up taking a step back from trading for a couple of years. Finding time again I spent last year reading what I can and learning what I could. For me the biggest lesson was to find a trading style that works for you and sticking to it.

I got back into trading via Forex about 6 months ago and doing pretty well from it.

Right now researching and learning what I can about Futures trading which is the next thing I want to get into.

Very much a hobbyist when it comes to trading. I don't see it as replacing my day job, as that extra pressure of delivering a return to live on isn't what I need at the moment!

Hi All,

During my searches (on the internet), quite a lot of time that I find myself here so I thought I sign up and be part of the BM community.

As an introduction about me, I'm currently in Singapore but trading the US market. I'm still new and learning. And just like everyone else I look forward to become a consistently profitable trader. I know it will take sometime and a lot more than hardwork but I want to be in it for a long time and to be here until that day comes!
