Hi all.

Seems like my story is nothing new here, but I'll share the (low)lights - traded off and on for a few years, searched for the holy grail, switched styles and instruments, bought guru materials, almost blew out an account, learned I needed to make a plan, etc. Still sim trading, reading, learning, and getting my confidence back (along with making my stake large enough to not stress about it).

Looks like lots to read and learn here!

Thanks,

c

I think my story has a lot of common threads with a number of other members.

I started to learn about trading in 2003; continued through 2005 and then split time with other business ventures. I'll put a separate post in the 'Confessions' thread but I went through a lot of the usual suspects in the retail trading training world, way too indicator focused and unsurprisingly was not successful.

I found that thinking about trading part-time just didnt really work - I timeshare trading with other stuff so put the trading down for a while. In 2009 I joined Bright Trading as a prop trader for a year, then went back to the business world.

I am now focused on trying to develop a realistic view of the markets that I can personally trade. Experienced enough to know that you cant be successful with someone else's system. Putting much more emphasis on being able to read market structure before I place a trade - realizing that I was placing almost all the emphasis on learning trade triggers.

Hoping to go back to trading in the near future.

Really enjoying going through the futures.io (formerly BMT) webinars - thanks to Mike for organizing this site, I cant imagine how much work it is.

Hi.

This is my first post as futures.io (formerly BMT) member.

Well, I am 35 years old. I trade stocks and futures for about 8 years, and now after discovering the more affordable multicharts code language to people who aren't professional programmers, I am in the process of creating an automatic trading system.

I discovered futures.io (formerly BMT) in a Google search and found it very pleasant (unlike many markets foruns).

My story as a trader is more of the same. Started to trade stocks, then Turbowarrants where I had my big loss. Then I started to trade futures. Among all financial products and assets, I think DAX futures is my favorite.

Kind regards.

I haven't traded since 1987, but I'm here as a developer to learn how to create indicators and strategies for a friend, who is an experienced trader. He thinks very highly of your site and I thank you also!

Best Wishes,
Ken

Hi.

This is my first post as futures.io (formerly BMT) member.

Well,I come from China and I am 27 years old. I am working in a future company as a computer engineer.I trade foreign exchange for about 2 years, I learn futures.io (formerly BMT) in a article and found it very pleasant for learning trading.

My story as a trader is more of the same. Started to trade stocks, then Turbowarrants where I had my big loss. Then I started to think of my own trading system.I looked forward to find my own holy grail of trading.

Kind regards.

This looks like a great community! I am glad I found it

Well I just got burned with PFGBest and I had quite a bit of equity with them

I understand that some on this forum also got burned.

Hopefully we will get some of that equity back before we die!

I decided to open an account with FXCM. At least with them I can track

their stock on the NYSE if they run into any financial troubles.

I hope to post here often as I have become quite addicted to

trading in forex over the past couple years. My favorite pair is the sterling.

Regards
Bob

Hi all,

I'm Prince, from Singapore and am 19 years old. Started learning everyday since February this year, 2012. I believe I'm almost ready to go live with just $250USD. I trade only Price Action and Divergences. You know, pivots, S&R, trendlines etc.

Nice to be here!

Hi, all,

I am Alex, 36 years old. I used to work in the financial services industry as a Sales and later on as Trader. Have 7 years experience with decent second tier size firm. Last year got kicked out. My trading experience in futures though is only few years, always has been employer book, I only traded stocks for my PA.

Really like the atmosphere here Mike created, now opening an account with Mirus/Dorman and actually the girl there advised me this wonderful site. So, hope to learn a lot (which I am already doing), will try to contribute as much as possible and make new friends here for the sake of profitable common trading!

hello guys,

I have always been very interested in trading, but actively trading only for 3-4 years. After many pauses due to losses I have started a serious journey into markets studies. Hope this community could help.
I am almost 42y.o. from Naples, Italy: whoever comes around here is invited for a free pizza.......
