Just haven't had much drawback...just a matter of time??
is there something inherently flawed trading a mechanical system...it is what i have..and to trade well is to match MM with probability..

wow.... what a career achievement in the making?

besides, you look like our mr. z.... on board here.

maybe that was a bit smarmy??..just haven't seen many flaws for the system...was trying to make the point that it doesn't seem realistic that i've had so much success...I've read Scott Carney's work and he makes the point that harmonics are very accurate...i was just trying to express that it seems fantastical that i've had results and what pov is flawed?? it has been thus far a reliable and profitable indicator and i'm agog that it's just there for free on the net!!

I am mr. z
i jumped the gun with seemingly just irrelevant by-and-by...i'm 34, certifiably insane, whatever that means these days, socially retarded, but i'm not autistic nor do i have aspergers syndrome. But i sometimes lack any common insight amongst peers..although when i'm high on amphetamine [or lots of caffeine] i can focus and thus communicate without too many idiosyncracies ...i've been interested in trading for about 3 years..have read a few books,, and tried to accumulate some knowledge but my mediocre IQ makes it difficult now from all the poisons i've immersed my brain in....I smoke, don't drink anymore...i weigh 268 lbs at 5`10' and i intend to study technical analysis unprofitably until i'm 40 or successful and if that then i would probably like to live off the charity of the other FX traders. career achievement in the making...i'm gonna be rich!!! yahhooo

Hi Mike and Trader Community:
For the last 30 years my primary occupation has been the car business. Owner of a GM Chrysler dealership sold in 2006. Since 2006 have bought and sold used cars to friends, family, previous customers and referrals. Have traded stocks and options for several years, in June of 2011 turned my attention to the futures market. Have paid some tuition to the market. If I stick to my trading plan I am profitable, however when I move away from it I lose. I am interested in learning more about Gomi's indicators. Look forward to meeting and learning from futures.io (formerly BMT)'s trader community.

Thanks Big Mike for initiating and maintaining this thread.

I'm in that older retired set (and a techie to boot!). I have been invested in the stock and bond market since I was in the twenties and I'm still learning. Recently I've gotten frustrated with the way the markets have been more government driven than economy/trader driven. As I manage our retirement assets, I therefore have been looking for a way to diversify. For the past two or three weeks one of my sons and I have been looking at trading in the futures market (Mini S & P, NAS, Oil, Gold, & Russell). As we both have been getting educated over the last five years or so in using charts, we appear to be reasonably prepared for this new venue.

We will be taking some webinars on trading in these markets and then will use the simulator on TA Trader and Ninja to gain confidence before jumping in with real $.

I am a "long-time" Mac user, so it really hurts to have to buy a virtual software package and run Windows. Doing some web searching on that subject is how I found this forum and found the answers I needed. Because of the info received here it looks like I will be using Parallel and running Windows 7 HP-64 bit. I have a two monitor screen setup on my Mac and have been assured by a Parallel techie that I will be able to run one screen on Windows and one on the Mac or if I need it, run them both on Windows.

I look forward to interacting with many of you on the forum.

Hi,

I've been investing in the stock market since 1997. I didn't get into options until last year until I happened to go to a TD Ameritrade free seminar (more of a teaser to get you to buy Investools) and got introduced to covered calls. Previously, I was under the impression/notion that options were too risky/scary so I didn't want to learn about them or anything.

After seeing a friend of mine (who emails me and some other friends a lot re: observations from technical analysis) do so well, I've wanted to learn more about technical analysis and options.

I've had some winners but also have made a TON of mistakes (i.e. letting a stock fall too far, not knowing about options, not knowing technical analysis, etc.). I only wish I'd realized some of them much earlier.

I'm using TOS and am always in search of cheaper brokerages for trading options (recently was able to switch to $1.25/contract). Currently, I don't trade many contracts per order (1-5) as I'm rather risk averse.

I'd say my experience is somewhere between beginner and intermediate.
