Hey Folks
Just wanted to say HI as I just registered here, and this is my first message obviously.
Looks like a great community, and looking forward to participating actively!

I am currently looking for "The Ideal" platform/feed/broker solution to setup myself in day trading.
I will search the forum first some more to read the previous posts, and maybe get all my questions filled; otherwise will revert back with a new thread.

Cheers
Fadi

Wow. This is most excellent. I've been trading on and off for maybe 25 years. Used to have a Series 3 and 6. Started with $2,500 and ran it up to $14,400 in eight months back in the 80's using hand charting and COT data. At that time, the was no such thing as a PC.

Then I got "smart" and started using a newfangled PC computer in the office. Blew the account back down to $3,500 by being lazy.

Doing well now. This forum is awesome. Amazing how honest most seem to be.

Hey everyone just introducing myself.

I've been investing and doing some minor trading for about 4 years now and have recently decided I want to day trade full time. I have been mentally making trades and saying I'm going to buy a stock at a certain price point for about 1-2 years now and just havent been doing it. I was maintaining a high dividend yielding portfolio and was mainly investing while working full time.

Recently I decided to stop that! I'm trading now, alot, several times a day. I have been profitable so far. My mental calls I had made before hand that I wasnt acting on, I now have been acting on and they have been winners. Intraday I basically bet big, sell micro moves, and take home a nice chunk of change. I feel comfortable and successful so far. I hope I can maintain my current profit margins and more importantly I can just do this for a living, for myself, with no boss other than myself. Its made me happy.

I've been looking for a good forum and it seems trader forums are few and far between online. I've joined some and this one seems to be fairly active. I'm looking forward to making friends here and hopefully getting involved with fellow traders ideas about how to become and stay profitable on my personal quest to financial freedom!

Thanks everyone!

I've been trading stocks for 5 years. Although I never really blown up an account, I spent the first three years losing some money and paying for good education. Then, one day, about two years ago, it happened. I just managed to put things together and I realized that I was consistently winning more than I was losing...

Hi Mike and All,

I was really hesitate to post this thread even though it is so small stuff. I guess it is because of that I have lack of writing skills. However I would like to start to share bit of my past experience and passion of trading.

I have migrated to here in Australia by myself in 2004. So I exactly know what is the 'life of migrants'. I dont know how many of you have same experience. It was not easy. Especially it is difficult to learn new language for person who is already over age 20 years old. I just worked any work for survive. I had to make my uni tuition as well as living cost.

After 2year, my friend taught me know about trading.(I blame him! ha) it has became my life.

As most of traders, I did not know what I was doing. Even though I was losing money, I just kept trying to make it better while I was in studying period even I was working 3 jobs. After 2years Margin FX trading, I realised I was so crab.. I did not make any money from it. So I decided to change to Share market(ASX). I expected I got some practice from relatively 'slow' market.
Well.. It kind of worked. I focused on making balancing between trading and my own life because I still had to work as full-time(50-55hours a week) as well as supporting family. I started trade on weekly and daily chart otherwise I just cannot control my life. I think we need to admit priority of you life. I believe all of forum member have strong passion and belief about trading. However if your trading is making your life sour, it is time to think about yourself. Why do you trade? What really want from this business.

Recently, I was under training course of one of prop trading firm in Sydney. Unfortunately, I got cut after two weeks during the training. They said I could improved above 'average' of other 19 people which I had to take two math tests everyday. That is the first rating method. I was quite depressed for few days but I knew this is a long journey.

Here is my reason why I am trading. I know we are all here about making money. I dont pretend I am not.
Trading(market) always treats me same as everyone. Market dose not care Who you are, What your color is, How old you are, Where you are from and What language you have. As long as you have an fast enough internet access, you can trade. If you are good, it tells you good. If you are not good enough yet, it also tells you straightaway. Second things is I would like to let people know how to lose money with smart way. I think everyone know what I mean. I cannot do this now. This is my long term goal. I am not going to stop..

I am a typical non-risk taker. It gives me not huge success and not huge drawn down either. However it helped me to have two properties in Aus. Now I started new life as full time trader since I got cut from the training. I still do swing trading for Aussie share market. Plus I hope I can learn trade Emini S&P500 futures in US time only opening one or two hours as day trading. Please let me get involve a day trading ES with reading price action, order flow and analysis market profile. Im not a big fan of many indicators.

Sorry for long and terrible writing. I just wanted to share my thought. Good luck your trading guys! & Nice to meet all!

hello everyone. what can I say
have been interested in trading for a few years now. work full time, so don't get much time to trade, and my finance is limted, so two major obstacles to over come!! day trading, trend trading, price action, all interest me, but putting something that works together is another story; lots of empty accounts, sleepless nights and where to from here sort of days; anyways this is where I am at the moment and I feel some good things will come from it. So here we go and good luck to you all. fridge
