Hey there,
Scapling the NQ and ES during the morning and afternoons and I am seriously looking for a telephone trading buddy to be on the phone with for like hours and hours during trading bouncing ideas around for long or short etc. Most probably slightly before open to about 3 hrs in or about 10:45-11:00 central and then after the Doldrums too.
I use Ninja with Rancho and some of my own indicators and also use internals like VIX, ADD, NYSE NET VOL, TICK etc.
As my name suggests I am a Slow Coach, but once I understand how any particular system works, well I even amaze myself sometimes.
I don't have a clue about trading, stocks, etc. I sometimes watch the share prices on bloomberg, check the price of Gold, Oil, etc.
But I have no clue about the technical terms.
If you ask me, what I want to trade in, I will say, I don't know. But what I do know is, I want to learn the fundamentals of trading which will enable me to make money and control any losses.
I hope members here will be patience with me and my questions (some of them maybe be stupid and simple)
Hi all. I trade the es, ym, nq, tf. You might see a pattern. I've also traded silver, back in the day, mid 1980's. Started trading the S&P in 1986 and had my best two days ever in October 1987.
I was hooked. I had taken a short position on Friday and held it into the following Monday. Look it up and guess which two days I am referring to.
I'm now looking at oil to see if a indicator I developed will work on it. It certainly trends nicely with big moves.
I use TS. I'm looking forward to utilizing the site and getting to know the community.

Started swing trading a year ago after my real estate empire fell apart. Did OK and then changed to day trading. That transition cost me pretty good. Now starting to get the hang of day trading, technicals and mental. Have losses under control, need to let the profits come to me. In december my trade is sofar so good my accont growing up to 191$ I'm so happy and enjoy with my tarding... but 2 week ago, I was make wrong position and I use margin to large, and then price move down so fast I have 3 posistion buy, My big mistake I not use Stop loss...Ohh Good my accont drope until 57$, I am s sad... and dont Understand why this happen, Iam not read news, Im jus follow the indicator. 3 day Iam wait the price go move up, but yesterday the price go move down again so deep, until Call Margin... my acaunt drope until 00,1 $, oh Im so sad... I want to joint in this forum to fix my mistake in my trading sistem, To All my friend, I hope I can fix my trading sistem, help me ya...
Welcome to the boards. Maybe check out the trading psychology forums. Mark Douglas' books are good too.
From what you said it may be you were using too much leverage. You may need to learn where to set your stop loss and the psychology of following a stop loss if you need to. As for news, one doesn't need to trade by news, but it may be good to know when news is happening and which periods are likely to be more volatile than others so to be ready of any major price reaction.
