I figured I had better get my introduction done before Mike finds me - lol. I have been on for two weeks from the advice of a friend who is an elite member. The forum so far seems fantastic in its ability to share ideas, thoughts, trading plans, indis, strats, etc. Staretd my trading 17 yrs ago and went from being beat up by forex brokers to working a little in options and finally landing in futures. Code writing is in my past via meta trader, TS, and currently a little NT. I am not a full programmer by any means. I have been working feverishly in the background on some new chart setups which I will begin trading this coming week. I believe the best charts and indis are the ones you reformat and/or create yourself. No one understands charts and indis better than the person who created them.
I do believe automated trading has its place and there are a few "automated holy grails" as the markets are constantly evolving and so should your strategies. Those strats that can read market conditions and make adjustments are the ones that interest me. For me I always design and look at indis and strats on the worst day I can find for chop in the recent months. If your indis/strats work in chop and show trend, then and only then are you on to something. It always gives me a chuckle to have someone send me something and say, "look at this 100+tick move" only to have them look at a chop day and have there idea show over 150 ticks in hits. Not to be mean but just a reality check to not get to excited until you can make it through chop.
I am here because of the interest in this forum to share ideas and build up other traders and myself. I too suffer from live triggeritis - lol. I am the worlds best sim trader - lol. Just kidding. In all seriousness I do believe anything you can do to keep yourself mentally sharp is a benefit. I have done many webinars for a dozen or so fellow traders that all got taken in a variety of trading rooms, as did I, to both help them out and to keep myself fresh and updated. There is nothing like having some folks dependent on you to make you finish a project!
I am definitely a "kiss" method kind of guy and despise overly complicated charts. I look forward to moving into the elite trader access and starting to learn and share with fellow traders.

Thank you Mike for putting together this site. Together, a group can accomplish much. I've been around investing for 10+ years, but have spent the last four more focused on trading. It has been the most challenging thing I have done. As of late, my focus has been the ES. Still trading on paper as of 11/11 and learning Ninja Trader. The plan is to work my regular job until the pieces are in place to trade full time. I'm not going to push to hard, it will happen when i'm truely ready, not before.

I've been interested in the market as long as i can remember. I'm currently in school for finance as well as working full time for a medical supply company, but if the time ever came where i were confident enough to trade for a living, i would do so in a heartbeat. i can't wait to learn as much as possible from all the helpful people i've seen so far on this site.
