I am a part time trader. I keep another business that i would like to end next year, because I want only to trade for a living.

I swing trade some stocks and some ETFs, but what I trade everymorning is the YM (mini dow).

I was in a room for months learning a technique, and using it by myself I am doing better now than while I was in the room waiting for a buzzer to enter a trade.

I trade the YM using a 133 tick chart with a 6 simple moving average and a 89 exponential moving average.

I use a 3m, a 15m and a 60m chart too. I use price action, support resistance levels, Ws formations, Ms formations and trend lines to trail.

I use to take profits at 10 points 1st target, then move my stop up and keep moving it up while the trade runs. I use maximum a 20 points stop loss, and sometimes even less. Little losses, bigger winners is what I am getting.

I have being trading the YM for about 10 months and I suffered losses, not big, then I was at the breakeven period, and now I am getting profitable but only trading 2 cars. I am not psichologycal prepared to trade more. I will, but I am more focused in trailing the 2nd car than in adding another car.

I can´t for now upload my charts, buy I would love to do it.

Glad to be here and to share with others. Sorry for my english, I am an spanish speaker from Uruguay.

@Sandra

you speak PERFECT TRADER ENGLISH.

welcome to big mike.

maybe if you would consider reducing some of your indicators to maybe only 4 or so,

you can even make more money, sandra.

many use only 3 and make a decent living. and some claim to use none except price action and claim to be profitable as well. but i have not personally come across any live trader who just trades from price action alone with consistent profitability. however, if i continue to live another three score and nine years, perhaps i would come across some successful only price action traders with amazement and adulation to the utmost.

sandra, now that you join big mike, we all hope you would become even more profitable with less effort than before, OK?

Hello to all, and thanks for the great resource here. I am a long time trader, but very new to futures. Most of my experience is in equities and options, which I've traded for many years, primarily in swing-trading fashion. I am interested in learning to day-trade futures and I recognize it's very different, so I'm hoping to learn something from the group here.

Hi Bill, I'm in Washington too (Camano Island). Would like to know other traders in my area.

Hi,
I am obviously new to trying full time trading, but like many I have tried and failed many times...guess I am just doggedly persistent and don't mind losing a little money .....
I have made a commitment a few months ago to get more business like and have really learnt alot in a short space of time. I follow bryce Gimore, VSA, and now Al brooks.....hopefully this will provide the edge and skill - just need the experience and discipline!
Trading ES futures and futures currencies...
Marcus

I am a day-trader of the ES, primarily. . I use volume and technical analysis , etc to trade my own system called J.M.A.P. (Just Making A Point)which is based on many years experiences of making every possible error while learning to trade proficiently. I believe that the subconscious mind is the real key to successfull trading. After all, Most professional Trading systems are based on trader psychology, basically fear and greed,. In my humble opinion that is. Oh yes, as soon as i figured out that market manipulation was the norm, then i started to make real progress in my trading success.

Hello everybody,
Still working as a full time tax lawyer but trying to learn all about day trading in my spare time.
Would be great to be making money as a day trader. However time will tell...
Main goal is to trade as a day trader (perhaps sometimes as a swing trader) in stocks only.
For now I won't be that much around at your site. I've just crossed it in my search for knowledge and I have put it between my bookmarks. I guess it might be handy one day.
At this moment my prior is to get to now how NT works and how to get intra-day data without paying for a broker... Until next time, take care you all!
