I am really new to forex trading so far with little success and working on final goal of trading futures. Quite often, confussed with so many indicators choose from and really scaptical that which one would prove good.
I am really thankful to BM and many members for sharing their wealth in terms of knowledge, expertise in creating indicators and helping others.
I never thought of something like BM exists.
I hope that I will share my experience with success after using some indicators I am gonna use in near future.
Installed MultiCharts and have MBTrading demo account. Plan to cut my teeth on SPY, first a paper and then a $25,000 funded account to permit day trading. Big Mike, your videos sold me on your site, and the June 2011 Al Brooks webinar sold me on first learning his method. Next focused activity is to analyze the 5min - 20EMA bar-by-bar using MultiChart playback of historical ESU1 / SPY.
Hope I'm not disappointed with my trade performance and financial results. I'm pretty methodical and tenacious by nature, and dedicated now to learning to successfully trade. My original interest was in trade automation, and Mike both you and Al have convinced me that I should first learn discretionary trading.
Further background is that I have a few degrees, worked for large enterprises, and have successfully launched my own business. Looking forward to the journey...
I'm new to Big Mikes and a new day trader. I'm so new that I really don't have a style yet. I have been investing in equities for over 15 years, but this is my first shot at making a living trading. I currently live in central Illinois and have two associate traders shown in my profile picture.
When I started day trading, I purchased a couple of Top Dog courses and right now I generally follow their methodology. I also listen to Day Trading Radio because I find it entertaining.
Before this, I made a living as a software and network architect, so I can find my way around inside a computer or code. I've modified a couple of Indicators inside of Ninja Trader.
I purchased Ninja Trader after looking at several brokers trading platforms. I am also using IB. Yeah, it has problems, but overall it seems the best combo and most flexible option. Right now, I have a big problem with IB. I have two IB accounts and the IB API sticks on one of the accounts when you trade.
I'm almost 80, bet most of you can't say that. Some experience in stocks and options. Can't sit around and watch the world go by so I decided 6 months ago to learn how to day-trade futures. After several books and subscriptions began to use my Thinkorswim trading account for futures - probably bad idea. Did great with CL and YI while they were goin' up, have done poorly ever since.
Lack of technical strength, emotion and impatience seems real issue. Bet noone else ever had those problems. Gonna' change to NT and learn that for the next few weeks. Anybody have any ideas on the technical education angle?

New to this forum. Quit paid employment Xmas 1997. Been trading for a living ever since. Better than any proper job I ever had!
Having found that I don't need to be sat at the screen day in day out, I trade actively for 4 months each year (the colder darker months, Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb) and only intermittently during the other 8 months when life takes priority. I trade small/medium UK stocks only - though I'm here in anticipation of the expected Nasdaq ipo for Smith Electric Vehicles (this year sometime supposedly). I own stock in Tanfield Group, the UK engineering company that holds a 32.2% stake in Smith - and am hoping the pre-ipo hype, if/when it kicks in - will bump up the Tanfield stock price. If I do buy into Smith when available, I might look at other US stocks. Goldman Sachs reportedly expect the ipo to be around $500m-$1000m in size.
Prior to doing this for a living, I traded on and off for several years whilst studying various trading tutorials (free online ones).
Nowadays I do almost all my trading via leveraged spreadbets, rather than buying/selling actual stocks.
Found this site via google. Can't remember what I was looking for but instantly liked the vibe here.
Been around the block a few times trading wise. Started out many (many!) moons ago investing stocks and options. This was before the 1987 crash and so that was my first big wipe out! This was in the days of when you had to phone your broker. Stuck with it and managed to come back and make some good profits over the years. These were positions I'd be holding for weeks or months.
As soon as the internet took off I started using online brokers but still sticking with longer term trades. About 9 years ago I was reading about day trading and looked into it as it's always been a dream to trade for a living. It's been a bit of a rollacoaster ride since.
Around 6 years ago I also became interested in forex and the attraction of 24/5 trading and greater liquidity etc. Blew a few accounts early on there!
I'm a software developer and have a small business and in the next few years I'm selling up and my aim to is to trade full time. Not too sure how that will work out but keeping an open mind at the moment.
Although I'm probably making small profits overall at the moment (scalping forex spot) I do occasional have a brain freeze and make some stupid decisions. Usually sticking with a losing trade when I should be scratching it.
Also being a programmer by trade I love experimenting with automated trading. Had a few short successes there in the past but haven't got any live projects at the moment.
I'm not much of an indicator fan. Preferring price action and fundamentals, trend lines, S/R and that sort of stuff. Don't trade the news though.
Even though I've been messing with trading for many years I don't consider myself an expert. I think I still have a lot to learn.
That's me in a nutshell really - not that I'd consider myself a nut! Looking forward to joining in...
