Fast growing forum here. Started to see some potential in trading one day when CA released news that their report may not meet expectations. CA was cut in half in one day. Either next day or next few days, it regained half the loss. From the low to the regain was 50% move up. That got me into it.

I traded symbols that no longer exist. It was easy back then, but I knew I knew nothing and knew that it was unsustainable. It didn't last.

Found Jenna's Market Gems, Pristine, some charting services, day traded the Q's, others, took time off for careers, returned 3 years ago for full time futures day trading. That was right at the start of the 08 crisis and that volatility was insane, I got caught up in it.... <$$

Studied Mark Douglas, Dr. Brett Steenbarger, Max Maltz, and most recently, Al Brooks for technicals.

Changed completely from 3 years ago. Blew out a few accounts. Still losing, but not like before. This year's losses have been only as bad as my worst day in 2008.

Do a LOT of SIM trading. Still make mistakes, but I stop very soon after making one or 2.

Starting to figure out the right conditions for the setups I know, matching them up is the key.

I did take off a few months to trade low volatility options and to slow motion my trading to delve deeper into my psychology and that was huge because there isn't just one thought or feeling that moves thru me in a trade, but many. So slowing it down to one or 2 super cheapo near-the-money options per week was great to look deeper since there was much less action for me to be tempted.

Need to make this work in the next 6 months. Latest success is in having small losses and a few much, much larger gainers than I ever had recently. Sim & Live. So it seems I'm on the way, just extremely slowly, and that's fine w me for a while.

Now I only trade futures extremely short term, love the leverage. Mainly ES YM NQ TF EURO CAN AUS YEN 10YR DX FRANC POUND WHEAT CORN

Hi Guys!

I've become interested in this forum and decided to sign up. My main goal is to strengthen my trading skills and find new trading ideas. I do have some technical trading experience. In my technical analysis I mostly have used candlesticks patterns and some popular technical indicators (MACD, SMA, Stohastics, CCI etc). I have experience with NinjaTrader platform, using witch I built many indicators and strategies and traded them with a mixed success. I'm interested only with trading using daily charts as I have a day job and place my orders once a day. I tend to like trend following systems and indicators. I'm interested to learn more about Swing and trend following system. I believe I'll be able to share some of my best ideas here and expand my trading knowledge with all the people and info in this community.

New here, looks like a really good forum.

Been trading for 5 years, net negative but chipping away.

Mostly trade commodity futures and stock options, just long calls and puts. Occasionally a straddle or strangle.

Don't know what else to say lol, just looking for a good place to share ideas and learn, always great to find instruments and plays that were off my radar but someone else brought to light. Hopefully I can do the same for others here, alright, see y'all around lol.

Hi everyone,
I joined this forum on june 28, 2011 and am eager to learn from fellow traders. I have been trading for the last 6 years but with losses. I am now focused on TF and sometimes ES futures. One of my problems is that when I am loosing, I stay in, where as when I am winning, I get out with only a few ticks. So the net result is that it takes many days to make what I loose in one day. Right now I trade with only one contract and primarily the price action. I do look at DAX (German futures) to see the trend of the day before I trade TF. This has been helpful
I like that this is a positive forum. Thanks Mike for emphasizing this in your forum.
