Hi,

First started trading stocks in 1995 during the crazy internet boom era using Datek which I'm sure many of you will remember.

Stopped for a bit to go to grad school but still traded stocks while in the lab and then part time for the next 10 years. Traded stocks only until 2009 then switched to ES and now have settled with CL. Will probably still trade part time until I finish validating my system

Look forward to reading how others are doing.

I'm not proud of myself. I've been an elite member since April 2010 and I've not introduced myself. I guess it's better late than never.

First and foremost, a big "thank you" to Big Mike for starting this forum with so many great members. The insights and contributions, from strategies to indicators are second to none.

I started a journal, Strictly Forex (Traffic Lights Trading System) but had since stopped posting since August 2010. It was time constraints, coupled with some personal issues.

I hope to get back into posting my insights on trading forex which I still think is the best business in the world, in fact, trading any instrument for that matter, IMHO. No boss, no 9-5 boring existance, no dress code, freedom to travel and trade anywhere in the world with a laptop and an internet connection. Life can be beautiful.

I've made plans to move back to Asia so I can trade during normal waking hours and not 2am like I do here in New York. It can be stressful when you're holding a full-time job.

I started trading forex in 2006 and have blown my account numerous times. Those days, I blamed the broker, the news, other traders, stupid systems, etc, etc but the truth is I am my own worst enemy. The sooner I realize that the idiot that made me lose my account is none other than the person looking right back at me when I stand in front of the mirror, the better it was for me to pick up the pieces and start all over.

I found futures.io (formerly BMT) a few months after I found Ninja Trader which was some time the beginning of 2010. It was the best discovery I ever made as far as trading is concerned. Trading can be a lonely business. It's great to have like minded people to share insights, strategies, etc. It's good for the morale too.

So even if you're the type lurking behind the scenes and prefer to read posts rather than contributing, there is always something for everybody in futures.io (formerly BMT).

Enjoy !

Hello All:

thank you for this Forum big Mike.I am sure we all have shed tears here and there over wiped out accounts and bad trades...I think of myself as reformed beginner trader.I learned daytrading from a family member whom helped wipeout my first trading account on "sure system".after that I researched the net for trading theories and systems (some interesting/some really bad) in all I am settled on a couple of trading methods and have been practising on simulated account for the last two months and ready to go back to the market.
I am hoping I am more disciplined and willing to accept losses and wins equally and aim to follow a trade plan and look at my trading results accordingly.
Part of my plan is a limit draw down on account and re assessment of strategy at intervals.
wish me luck as I do the same to all fellow warriors out there.

thank you

Ozzy

Hi All,

I've been on this trading journey for almost 3 years, have blown up a few accounts (mostly micro) and learned a lot about what works for my personality and how I want to trade. I watched the recent webinar on psychology and he said something very interesting, that most successful traders he's known still feel fear and anxiety when they're trading after many years at it. I'm determined to have a low to no stress trading day

Thanks to Mike for this amazing forum, I really feel from reading that there are many likeminded people here which is great. I still have a day job and am determined to leave it by the end of this year.

Cheers,
T

Hi Mike

My real name is Tom
I am a Trader and developer
I have a small company called MicroTrends a NinjaTrader partner -
I love trading and developing, and anything trading related essentially.

I like this forum as it has a polite friendly theme - with no false claims or anti negative threads...
Been meaning to drop by, finally did it.!

I mostly robot autotrade these days as i am so darn busy writing code...
Forex GBPUSD and Currency futures...
London Open

A High Low System/ Hybrid can be directionally biased, i find the pound has a pattern that is well suited for it...
I trade one system and one market..

Yes I have made some horrific mistakes...been on the floor..curled up pretty much crying, screaming due to massive loss, clutching myself in pain and then punching holes in joy in the air above me another day... I don't like that too much though... if you are trading like that STOP! Find a balance, less is more, keeping it simple and trading less is best.. But outside of that experimenting and doing all sorts is great fun...

For me leveraging IT and writing programs to trade I find is awesome and keeps my balance...

There is a Holy Grail.
It's not what you do its how you do it :-)

Hello fellow traders.

I'm 26 years from Oslo, Norway and have participated in the Forex market since 2006 and have also been a member of another trading-related community since 2007.

Right now I don't have much else to do than following my system, building a proper track-record over the next months. I never though I would say this but I actually miss some of the excitement being in "research-mode" as trading is nothing more than a rutine. So enjoy it while it last

I'm here because I'm a social creature while trading is not. Second, forums is a way more effective medium to stay in contact with fellow traders compared to real-live.

When time allows it, I will share the little I know, assisting those who need it and maybe I will learn something too
