Hi everyone, I am new here. I am a developer. I hope I can learn more on algo trading especially using Ninjiatrader.

Thanks.

Welcome! This place is a great resource and the community is phenomenal.

There are some good books on algo system development. I recommend Building Winning Algorithmic Trading Systems, by Kevin Davey. We use a modified version of his methodology in our shop and it has changed the way we develop and implement our automated trading systems. He codes in EasyLanguage (TradeStation), but provides a lot of code in NT7/8. It is easy enough to follow.

Greetings! 56-year-old American entrepreneur. Took a couple years to travel after selling a business and now looking to trading to continue to fuel my passion of being intentionally homeless, out and about on the planet.

Hi Mike and everyone,

Thanks for accepting me in the group.

I have been trying to day trade for a living for nearly two years now after 20+ years spent working in the financial industry in various support role (mostly in IT).

I mainly trade US stocks as well as ES and NQ future so far, experimenting various strategies.

My most recent interest is with footprint charts to help me read the tape better and getting more aware of the interactions that take place in the market.

Very please to be joining the group to learn and share.

Tinynaish.

Hey Everyone,

Unfortunately, I'm here like many others. I have been trying to become a consistently profitable day trader for the past 3 years and it hasn't really worked out.

I'm not giving up yet though, hopefully with the information available in these forums, I can turn it around.

Glad to join this community.

Thanks

Hi Eveyone,

I'm on leg two of my journey. I tried trading around 15 years ago and I failed miserably. However, I've always maintained an interest in trading and am ready to try again.

Thanks!

Hi folks,

I have been trading for the past 20 years and its only 2 years since I have become consistent. Yes a long learning curve, but full of lessons learned, account blow ups, and other crap. Anways,, I have been trading this strategy that I want to get programmed on Think or Swim. Does anyone know anyone who does that? I can define all the conditions and parameters, Just need someone to code it.

it would be a GREATTTTTTTTTTT help.

Yasir

Hi Yasir,

Welcome to the community. There are a couple of threads that I am sure would love your input right now, like:

Prof. Jeff Bierman worked with Don Kaufman on the development of the Think or Swim platform before TD Ameritrade bought it. He is the guru on it. If he is not interested in working with you on coding it, he might be able to recommend somebody. I know about them because I am a member of TheoTrade, founded by Don Kaufman. TheoTrade structures their content around ToS, so you might reach out to them as well.

Hi Everyone,

New trader here, hopefully looking to get some experience with trading the ZB. I recently started paper trading the ZB on think or swim and have had some newbie luck with it so hopefully I can keep it up for a few more months and then once I build up the courage, try it with some actual money! Anyway, just here to learn and take everything in!

This is my first post here. I have never participated in this sort of forum before so I will be fumbling around for a while. I have been trading for quite a while and started with futures about a year ago. Up and down . Tried different approaches. Learning the hard way. I have finally settled on a method and will be sticking with it. Simple straightforward scalping. Seems to suit my temperament. Do people post what they are doing here? Where should I post daily progress?

Feel a bit like I am shouting down a well!

hello everyone,

I'm a technician for USPS, just starting out giving away money investing with options and futures.

This site looks pretty awesome so far. Looking forward to being able to help other people and maybe ask some noob type questions.

Thanks for building such an awesome community.
