Hi all,

Brand new to futures\trading...looking to learn as much as I can while I save some capital to dive into trading. Software development background in finance sector, studying finance (non tech side) and economics on my own time. Happy to help with any development questions if asked. Looking forward to the journey

Hey there, I have been a member and a major LURKER of this place for 1024 days now. I think its finally time to start being active on the boards. I have been demo trading forex and some CFDs for years and always just getting wrecked in the demos even. But this year finally my demos turned profitable. And on monday the mirco futures come out! Finally a place where new small traders can use truly appropriate risk management on accounts sized to our budgets. Hopefully when I go live I can keep the streak of profitability going. I am looking to get into trading the ES, DOW, and CL.

I cannot wait to keep learning and be an active member in this fantastic place.

Hello everyone. Looking to get into trading the ES. I've mostly just done a bit of NADEX off and on for a couple of years. I see there is a wealth of info here on the forum and I'm excited to learn what I can.

Hi guys, my name is Juan and I just recently began developing custom TS strategies and working easylanguage.
I attempted discretionary trading for roughly a year and then I lost confidence in myself and most strategies that I was employing. Maybe I sucked, but 2018 from what I understand was a rough year even to the experienced guys (or thats what I like to tell myself). I guess I enjoyed a winning month/week here and there but never even got a taste of consistency or confidence in my strategies. anyhow, discretionary trading came to an abrupt halt for me after my account balance became critically low (sometime last month), and I suddenly realized that there was a better way. That is, the algorithmic way. So right now Im learning a ton about Strategy development, backtesting, and execution. Once I feel comfortable with something ive coded, well then Ill trade the rest of the balance in my account with a system that at least has historical odds on its side. Thank you guys.

Happy to be a part of this forum. I hope to learn and contribute as a trader. Fortunately, I started my trading career after undergoing formal education that shielded me from some of the mistakes beginners make (position sizing, risk management, etc). I strictly abide by my position sizing and money management rules. Of course, like everyone I have my share of internal issues. I understood and knew I had them, but did not have the courage to act on my inauthentic fears. I have slowly started working on my mindset and hope to take it to the next level. developing a trader's mindset and trading in a carefree state.

Thank you.

Hi!

On May 20th, 2019, I will start keeping a journal here on Futures IO to keep me accountable for my trade rules.
I will be start the journal next week and my first entry will contain said rules. I look forward on joining everyone
on this journey. A little history.

Before trading, I was a programmer. I love to program (still) and the market has lots of numbers so it seemed like a natural fit.
I've found the the mind-set of a programmer/engineer is usually 'rewarded' for everything 'working' correctly, ie 100 percent of the time.
In the market, I assumed that would mean trades are all winners, lol.. This has been the hardest for me, accepting that no matter how well
I plan, program, plead, .... I can't control the market, I can only control my reaction and looking for opportunities with good odds.
To that end, I do lots of stuff with stats. I'm also a short term guy (scalping, 1 minute charts). If I can take a small edge and repeat it often, I can let compounding take care of the rest.

I've read some great stuff here. Thanks Big Mike for having the vision to make this site a reality.

Hi,

I'm trading since 2016. From 2017 - 2018 I followed a training including the EUREX exam for professional derivates trading.
I exclusively trade the FDAX (Future in the DAX) with TT from Trading Technologies.
I concentrate on order flow and hedging activity from options on the DAX (ODAX) by analysing the Open Interest of those options
