Hi

I have just joined this site and looking forward to benefiting myself and others. I have been trading Fx fo a while and have decided to move to Futures several months back. I trade ES mainly using MP and OrderFlow. One thing that helped me in FX was a small study group of 3-4 like minded traders on Telegram interacting throughout the day.

If you have been trading for 1-2 years using Market Profile and Order Flow and would consoder forming a small study group please get in touch.

Hi everyone! I'm Frosty and I'm a beginner futures trader. I have six years experience with equities and options, but have slowly been transitioning to commodities. I am focusing on learning algorithmic trading as well, combining my computer science knowledge with this. Its been an uphill battle but I hope to get better with everyone.

I am a retired banker and after retirement I started trading in Indian stock and index futures. I earned and lost all that and stopped trading. Started reading a lot from internet and slowly understand what went wrong with me. On my learning curve I come know your web site in a webinar hosted by Mr. Rajendran of Marketcall - Bangalore. I thought I should learn from here as well and hence I am here. I am yet to restart trading in share market.

Hi Everyone.
I have seen futures.io referred to many times so I decided to join!

I was introduced to "trading" a little over 4 years ago. My buddy said, "read Martin Pring's book on technical analysis", so I did. It's quite the read and I immersed myself in it - I loved it! I looked at a few trading styles and decided to learn non-directional defined risk trading (iron condors, butterflies, calendars, etc...) on the Indexes. After a period of paper trading, I started to trade real money. Within 1 year, I started to log consecutive profitable months. This went on for 2 years and I learned a very important lesson - I need to adapt my trading style to match the current market. All I had were non-directional trades, which LOVE calm markets. What worked for 2 straight years (2016/2017) was not working.

Enter - directional trading!

I started my journey trading futures in 2017 - spent a lot of time reading, watching, and trying. I've earned more knowledge than money with this side of my trading. I feel it's a journey and the money lost is more of a tuition. I do have a full-time job and I've been working on this on the side. I realized my attempts to day trade ES were not compatible with working full-time (my head was about to implode!!!). I'm currently working on a simple trade strategy with just one or two indicators, working off the day charts, with just a handful of futures. I'm using this as a way to develop the level of discipline and money management required to be successful.

My goal is to have trade strategies for sideways (non-directional) and trending/volatile (directional) markets.

My plan is to leave my day job at some point to trade full-time. I feel it will be pretty evident when the time is right (life events and trade success).

Looking forward to being in the community with you all!

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on the site for a while now and now that I'm actually into Futures trading this site is making more and more sense to me! I started out doing Crypto during the hype 2 years ago, realized I needed to put my money where it could actually do something, so moved to stocks. I've been a break even trader for the last 2 years, but due to the usual reasons with stocks (complication, manipulation, taxes, PDT, etc...) I've seen the light and moved to Futures!

I started with TOS and TDA (obviously), but due to their fee structure and the fact that TOS is so resource intense I've moved to Sierra Charts and Interactive Brokers (IB). That said, I'm moving over to Infinity Futures (IF) because they have super support (Patrick and team are awesome!), descent fee structure, and you get Sierra for free if you trade 10 round trips. I'm keeping my IB account too for now, may do some stock trading (mostly swing) in there.

I'm really digging Sierra and between IF's videos and this site I hope to master all it has to offer! Thanks for having me and I look forward to interacting with you all!

Randy

Hi all - Been trading off and on since 1995 with the usual set of beginner failures eventually working towards limited success... but getting active more recently, looking to raise my game.

So joined the forums here for the breadth and depth of knowledge. As most know trading is a very personal and unique journey and I have my own style, but it's nice to see the perspectives of others and the great sharing that goes on here. I've been in my own trading bubbles long that I suppose it's taken me 20+ years to realize "hey maybe this Internet thingy may actually have something for traders."

Hi everyone,

I have been trading for a couple of years on the forex. Spent a lot of money on courses, news subscriptions (i.e. a squawk news feed) and a lot of time studying fundamental analysis. It started to come together and was profitable for a few months but it required full time day trading - a luxury I didn't have. My work suffered then my trading by trying to balance both. I have tried swing trading and can be profitable until I get impatient - a trait I have now accepted. It would take a lifetime to get enough capital to live off 4-5% profits per month. Patience others may have - but definitely not me.

Anyway - yes - blew my account many times (I think I have blown around 10K so far which when I read this sort of thing at the beginning from others - you are adamant that this will not be you).

I have decided to bin Forex because of all the geopolitics going on so thought I would give the ES mini a try. The good thing is that RTH starts at 2.30pm in the UK which suit me better. I have stripped back to basics (S/R levels) and slowly adding in in-depth analysis (i.e. tick and A/D). I will also add in my other techniques that worked in the past to create areas of confluence. Then comes the dreaded fundamentals!!

Hope you guys are getting good results and look forward to chatting to some of you.

Ian
