[QUOTE=Big Mike;1Hi everyone!

Like most day traders, I blew up my account a couple times and lost enough money to make most grown men weep. After I regrouped I started trading with common sense and with control of my emotions.

Later, I decided I wanted a forum to share my ideas as well as learn from others. I created my blog on April 17th, 2009 in order to meet this goal, as well as hold myself accountable for my trades and actions. I wanted a way to be able to lookback and ensure I was following my own advice.

The blog introduced me to a lot of fellow traders, some struggling, some doing exceptionally well. Talking with them everyday has really helped my trading and given me a lot of new ideas as well. In turn, I hope that I have provided them something useful that helps in their trading.

Since the blog did very well I decided to create this forum, and it was born June 11th, 2009. The forum was designed with the specific goal of having a small community of traders focused on making money. There are other sites out there but I never really felt at home with many of them, their userbase is too focused on proving someone wrong instead of trying to help.

You can find some more information about me in my profile.

Thanks for the intro Big Mike,

I need the help, especially due to this short - ish explanation of what's happened requiring me to find a source of income from my sofa for about 12 hours a day. Here's the "short" version:

I’ve had a rough year that has resulted in me looking for an opportunity like you are offering. In a nutshell, there have been three events over the last couple years that have changed my life dramatically. First, I had both hips replaced 6 weeks apart from each other. That of course began an entire set of specific physical challenges, doctor visits, therapies and meds I never encountered before. It took several months to get past most of that, and “life” seemed close to normal again.

Then earlier this year, and shortly after hip recovery, I was attacked from behind while standing at a stall in a bar bathroom. I was struck in the back of the head with a metal rod, knocked unconscious, robbed and put on life support for 5 days and remained in hospital rehab for several months. The resulting traumatic brain injury (TBI), several appointments with differing areas of medical practice, physical and mental therapy requirements, meds and several various physical and mental handicaps forced me into retirement from being a drug rep. A few months after the attack, I still had some traumatic brain injury (TBI), with minor shortcomings but hope to get past that over time.

However, if all that happened so far wasn’t enough, and while I’m still suffering from a great number of declining side effects, I fell 4 months ago. I landed squarely on my left hip on a hard tile floor. I ended up breaking my left femur COMPLETELY in half requiring steel plates, wire tethering and screws while basically causing my left hip to be replaced again. An extremely serious surgery that will be months for resolution, lots of doctor appointments, therapy, meds, walkers, crutches, canes, etc. Our daughter with cerebral palsy adds another layer of special needs, and of course hers are more important than mine.

I WAS our income provider but feel I must find something I can learn to do somewhat quickly while sitting primarily on our sofa. I have too many issues to try and work for another company, or even leaving our house for an extended period. I've been attracted to trading for some time, trying Forex, penny stocks and having signed up with a broker that changed their “rules” after I funded. I’m getting my account rewired to my bank. I hoped what you offered really was a good fit for me and I thought it was. My goals are what you described in your video. I don't expect to get rich quick, I'm willing to build a bank account.

The only problem is the cost. I'm guessing you can understand my position, that given the amount of income you can create investing is worth a lot. My problem is since forced into retirement, my over $300,000 in medical bills and a daughter with cerebral palsy simply fill my mind every day and top our need to pay bills. My family of four are living on a Social Security Disability check, and a little money we have saved. Our future will undergo some changes soon. Don't get me wrong. Thanks for reaching out with your website, I appreciate your consideration.

Steve

Sorry to hear about your situation, but I can safely say that trading is NOT going to be the solution to your money issues, especially right now in the condition you are in.

Did you try something like GoFundMe? Aren't there victim funds available for violent crimes?

Wow, Steve, you've really been through it. I'm sorry. But you seem to have a positive attitude and if anybody can make it, you will. The only trouble is, trading is hard. I've never blown an account in my 10 years of messing with Futures, but I'm still not making money. Good luck (!) to you in your learning process, and especially with your recovery. With your strong will, you will overcome all. And you are no dummy. You write intelligently. Use this intelligence and your positiveness to win at the Futures game. We will be rooting for you.

Mike,

Nice intro, thanks. I've read several pages of intros and there seems to be a lot of challenges for everyone, I'm no exception, but life is being good to me right now and I'm hoping to learn and grow. I've only dabbled, lost about $2k total in various investments, I'm really having trouble buying into software or training right now, figured I'd get more out of it by learning here and using that money to invest rather than buy something than may not teach me anything new.

I'm excited to meet some kindred spirits with knowledge to share that will put up with my, probably really dumb, questions.

Thanks and hi everyone. Also, Happy New Year.

Good luck, I agree with using your money for trading rather than training or strategies. Software is a must, a good platform and broker but trading method and strategy should be one the fits the trader.
