Hello to all you great posters and fellow traders. I have been more of an options and equities swing trader until recently with mixed results for a few years now. I am fairly new to intraday trading futures but it is something that I wish to improve and focus on.

Right now I am mostly learning about and applying market profile concepts. I use TOS for my charting/studies as well as Sierra Chart / Infinity Futures. I value communities like this one and have learned a lot from reading the many experienced traders here who post and share such quality wisdom. I thank Mike for such a useful and potent venue. I look forward to posting more as I feel I have more to contribute.

Hi, I have never traded futures but want to learn. My trading as been almost exclusively based on futures, namely, the ETNs UGAZ and DGAZ. I happened upon this site when I was researching a trading program. I would like to learn how to trade the e-mini. I know NOTHING. Plan to spend a few days/weeks looking around before I go Elite. It really seems like the best value for the money, and even more value than what it costs.

Would anybody like to recommend any good books on futures and the e-mini for a total newb.

Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Hi Everyone,
I was first introduced to the market when I worked for the RR and used to layover in Chicago during the day. I got to know some of the passengers that worked at the market and was invited over to be on the floor nd watch the action right from the trading desk. It was interesting to say the least. I started trading more aggressively in the late 80's and eventually went more into stocks and then options because of the leverage. I've been out for a while but am getting back into it. I always enjoy the learning process!!!

Thank you for your invitation.

I began trading futures in 1983, primarily SP, which I've followed on and off ever since, although more recently with ES and NQ. Around 1990, I forwent all indicators, which turned out to have been a good decision for me. I use a combination of price patterns, volume, and correlated markets for making very short-term trades, typically no longer than 10-20 minutes, and have not been in the market overnight for over 20 years. I've attached a photo of my trading partner/advisor.

It's hard to contribute to the forum when your treading water and can't seem to get ahead. What has helped for me is to trade judiciously and not be itching to trade. Don't give in to FOMO!

Hello All,

I have been trading futures full time for about 3 years and feel comfortable with my method primarily using volume profile and auction imbalances.

There is always more to learn and I have referred to futures.io many times over the years for help and advice. Looking forward to becoming more active in the community

Mark

Hallo all
I joined a couple of weeks ago but haven’t done any posting very shy and new to trading.
I’ve been working for big corporates for the last let’s just say many years 😊.
The last company I worked for decided it was time to down scale and I decided to apply for the voluntary retrenchment, which I got. So, my boyfriend has been “training” me/teaching me everything he knows about trading. When the voluntary retrenchments were offered I already knew a little bit about trading, liked it and decided I can make it my next career move. I know it is difficult and it is going to take a lot of hard work to make it work. Therefore, I’m extremely grateful for sites like futures.io and some of the others where we found some training docs and videos.
I’ve been playing on a SIM account for about 2 months now. Last week I started using the DOM before that I tried charts. I found the DOM easier to read. My boyfriend then suggested I do the training drills. Oh, my word, that was crazy that is all I did this week, my first week as self-employed. Luckily, I have a SIM account else I would be in a really big financial crisis right now. BUT the drills are fantastic I learnt so much. I’ve been keeping a journal and noting all my lessons that I’ve learnt. I just read through all of it and decided to share a bit about myself. That’s all for now.
