Hi, everyone in this private forum!!!
To be honest I have no idea what to anticipate from this group, but I can say what has brought me here. And that is struggling in trading, "seeking the lite" let's say, quest for my "holy grail" and the realization that "grail" is always within us, we just need to get ability to see it.
What was the road I passed in trading? I've started from Forex markets as may be most of us and still trying to grasp that tough business, I passed the way from losing trader to breakeven trader and never tried live trading, just demoing, the reason I couldn't get profitable even in demo trading. The method I used in trading and still sticks to is Price Action, let's say pure charts, no or minimum indicators and common sense. I don't have experience in futures trading and just know that trading in futures markets is slightly different from trading in Forex markets. I don't know which methods or strategies are taught in this private forum, but may be they will help to improve my trading and at last become consistently profitable trader and found new home in this community helping others with my knowledge and experience.
Anyway I'm willing to learn, teach me, guys and gals. I'm ready to do that hard job with your assistance and guidance.

Dear Tinwoodman,
It's great yo hear you are still in the game and "breaking even"! If I were you, then I would have a trading plan. Without it, no direction matter!! Consider yourself you know nothing about trading and start with a plan. Also, make your start practicing trading with NO leverage. Stock market is a good place before moving to Futures or any other market.
Practice, practice and practice in the stock market bcoz its low risk and learn before you leverage your risk in the forex and futures markets.
Best wishes.

Hey Robot

Thanks for your advice. I have some questions if you don't mind. First is about trading plan, do you mean the trading method or strategy plus money management when you talk about trading plan, Robot?
Second is about advice to trade with NO leverage. What is the benefits of trading without any leverage?
Third question is about stock markets. I never trade stocks, just tried to demo on some CFDs and Forex market. Can you advice me broker and platforms that will give me the opportunity to practice trading there without risking real money?
Thanks in advance, Robot.
Best regards

Hi guys,

I am a 22 year old attempting to conquer the futures market.

I first got interested in markets in the summer of 2016. Like most people, I started with the stock market, and experimented with penny stocks. This gave mixed results, but fortunately I did not do anything too rash or stupid. I eventually learned more about the different markets including forex, bonds, futures, and different tools like options, etc. School began in the fall and I didn’t have the time to be as directly involved as I was previously, though I continued to watch, learn, and experiment with different markets. The futures market stood out to me, and so after I graduated college in 2017, I decided to open a small account.

I hope to attend medical school in Fall 2018, and the time frame from now till then represents a good opportunity to be involved more fully and apply my ideas.

I have a blog where I basically post my trading journal; losses and profits and trade analysis. I would actually love to be critiqued on how I currently trade. I guess ill be posting my trades here too!

Right now i'll be happy to just be consistently in the green, whether by a lot or little.

Dear Tinwoodman,
A trading plan usually combined all and more what you mentioned above. You'll find a lot of examples on the internet on Trading Plans. Some are so brief and other are more detailed.
Trading with leverage will "leverage" your risk too. Big Win and Big Loss probability at the same time. Since you are in learning mood, I would prefer to forget leverage and make small wins, small loses and keep in the game. I recommend to use actual account, not a demo one, to take things seriously. Irrespective of how much your win or loss, as long as you are still in the game, The main benefit is LEARNING WITH PRACTICE. You may read hundreds of books on GOLF, for example, and play another hundred games "virtually" but that won't make you a good player. You need to go to the field, if you take it seriously, and start practice playing. Right?
Stock Trading is easier than FOREX, options and Futures..etc. It's Buy and sell with no time frame constrain. What to buy, when to buy and to sell, how much ...etc that's what you need to learn!
Many Brokers are available. If you are dealing with US market, then I would recommend to have an account with US brokers. Interactive Brokers, Tradestation are examples of them. I love tradestation platform but they are not the only one. You need to search for the most appropriate broker (service, fees, platform features, Customer Support ...etc) that suits you to select. Do your homework for the above to make a wise decision and best wishes for you.
Bye

I'm retired and trade/invest full-time. My goal is to produce income from my trading accounts. I spent the last two years learning and trading options. I find that once an option position is in place, it needs to work for a few days to a couple of months...or more. So this opens up time to learn about futures.

I'm in learning mode and focused on trading ES. I've recently opened a futures account with Tradovate and added Jigsaw Trading software and I have a lot of respect for the information I'm receiving from these two firms.

I am also impressed with the futures.io community and look forward to a positive exchange.

Hello and my name isJoseph .

Today was my first day, of several future months, of practice trading with 'Think or Swim'. At the end of the day I was $150 dollars in the hole. There had to be a better way to learn so I was able to google a search for a group of people who were more experienced than me and found futures.io.

I look forward to reading and benefiting from the combined experience of others. I am already certain that this will be an experience that will be both educational and fun. By applying the lessons I will learn here I am sure to be wealthier and smarter in the future.

Again, greetings from Greenville and may we all prosper.

Joseph La Rocque

Hi,
I have been interested to make trading for a living for long time now, I don't need to be rich but successful enough to
Have a good life.

I've tried option before but get burn by the market or myself.

I read a lot of things on the web but still missing some education and google advice.

I know that I need some resources (software) and a mentor to guide me through the process of learning to trade and get the self control to succeed in this business.

Hope to find some of my answers here, looks promising!

Hi there!

I trade 9 years. Tried all instruments but finally stopped on futures. Currently trade synthetic spreads. Also have some automated strategies that help me sleep more.

Happy to be here and join the community!

Hi, I am a beginner trader and English is not my mother tongue, so I will not post that much but read more of your posts. I am interested in commodity trading futures at the London Exchange (Sugar, Cocoa), Wheat (Paris), Oil and Gas, Gold and Silver. Maybe someone who speaks Dutch and wants to spruce ....? Good luck
