My name is Steve, another Aussie trader

I've been share trading using Amibroker for over 15 years and also started trading futures around 5-6 years ago, also using Amibroker for system development.

I've been a long time lurker but it's time for me to make a contribution to the already amazing content on this site.

G'day!!
Well I've already read about trading and stuff but never got into it myself.
Then I came across crypto, lost some money and realised, well, I need to take a course in trading.
I've taken one with order flow analytics however its just so far me copying trades and I feel I need to learn more and have since come across this forum. Looks like a wealth of information.

For now this is a side hustle and luckily I can still keep my day job and at night do some trading before bed

That's my short journey so far

James

Thanks, man!! It's great to hear I'm not the only one in the field. I definitely want to consider more trading as I don't want to work in the medical field forever.

Do you or anyone have advice on what books or programs I should read or start with? It's really hard and time wasting looking for programs as a newbie. Additionally, all of them usually promised 1000% more money blah blah....which of course I know it's B.S.

Not looking for a quick solution program just want to learn the basic and some great strategies that I can implement and practice on my own.

Thanks, everyone!

My journey started in 2011 when I purchased access to trading "rooms" and instructional material from Trading Advantage and Larry Levin. Immediately following the purchase life began throwing curve balls. Family started passing away creating the need for Executors to each estate. The rest is history. Work also did not accommodate.

Things are much different now so I am cocked, locked, and ready to rock again. There may be pros and cons out there related to TA, but for now I have no where near the knowledge to form an opinion as to whether they are good, bad, or ugly. I do know they have all been very courteous and willing to help.

The platform T A Trader is proprietary and is available through BlueWater. It dazzles me someone was smart enough to come up with the Algo and Monster charts. I have paid a substantial sum to TA so I am not considering letting that investment go by switching to another platform -etc.. I am going to learn their - my system.

That said I hope this forum can assist me with all the ancillary players related to Emini trading such as broker costs, platform costs, and other related costs.

Glad to be a part of the forum,

esam1152
