Intro

Hi Everyone.

Here's my story ( the shortest version I could come up with).

I retired three years ago with a nice cash payout but no trading knowledge, so I put my trust and money in a buy-and-hold account with EJ and lost about 30% in year one of retirement.

I had a sick gut feeling from the fear of running out of money and decided that I 'd better find something else fast.

So I spent a couple of months learning about Futures and tried the automated trading route, subscribing to a few profitable systems through a popular online broker. That was going ok until the best performing system got hung in a short contract the night of the presidential election. I got a call the next day to cover the 50% draw down.

That's when I decided I was taking total control of my money and would learn about trading. I've been glued to my computer for 5 months, researching and watching my charts. I've been paper trading for a couple of weeks - basically scalping for 2 or 3 pts, based on patterns and signals from a couple of good indicators. I know it's not real money but the results have been pretty good.

I believe one is never too old to learn and it sounds like everyone here (young and old) feels the same. I look forward to sharing and I'll be upgrading to the Elite membership today.

Jerry

Introduction

Hello All,
I've recently become involved with Trading and am currently using MultiCharts64 through AMP. After losing 60% of my investment with trades made by an "expert" at an other brokerage, I felt that I could loose my money all by myself. I've been trading for about 4 months now and have been doing OK. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
On a side note, what is everyone's opinion of MACD verses TRIX as indicators?
Have a good day,
Bill

God bless my friend and best of luck!

Best to start a thread and/or search for all question you might have with the search box. Not in this thread. Just make sure once you click in it it doesn't pop out and then shut .... it least with Chrome it does that.

I lost $53k starting out over 8 yrs ago.

New to Trading Coaching Experience

Hi all I am relatively new to trading and decided to undertake and employ a coach as opposed to get bitten by all the indicators out there. Unfortunately this has not worked out too well for me and I think I? should bring this to the attention of other fellow traders who intend to go down the path of employing a coach.
Kam Dhadwar.
I employed him to coach me back in August last year and spent a lot of time trying to find what i thought to be a decent guy and coach. How wrong i was.
His material isnt half bad but his ego is so big that his presentations could easily be halved. Anyway come the start of this year he started electing to not turn up to coaching session, literally giving me minutes notice....excuses were headache, stuck in traffic....a lot!, bitten by a spider and cant type....go figure! Based in uk there are no fierce spiders. Anyway this course cost in excess of £3,000 and i asked for a refund of some sort due to him not meeting his commitments. He said no way and advised me that a little man like me could not harm a big man like him....i was after 500 pounds as a token gesture of goodwill....but he refused until i said i would post everything i can about him and then he came back to me the following day saying he agreed to pay the 500 but not until after Easter. Here we are in the 2nd week and no refund. So i said i would contact small claims court. Just be very careful guys of who you trust to take you to a new level....

I am very sympathetic to your experience. Unfortunately, there are so many scams in this industry that it is very difficult to find someone who is genuinely good and willing to teach.

Do you mind sharing what process you used to select him as a coach?

Thanks.

Money and trust in EJ

EJ is short for Edward Jones Investment Advisers.
