Hi Mike....I have caught a few of your webinars over the years and do appreciate your integrity.

I traded a few times in the past 20 years, but always needed the cash back to raise a family. I just started again and am planning to take my time instead of rushing in.

My preference is to sell premium, although I am interested in other set-ups like Calendar/Reverse Calendar spreads. My broker is not particularly partial to the calendar spreads, but I am wanting to see what the possibilities might be with them.

Also new to me are the weekly options, which I think makes things even more versatile.

When I get more discretionary time I would like to digest the scalping off the order book....again, I have enjoyed some of the webinars that Mike has provided.

If anyone out there has any insights into Calendar Spreads, I'd appreciate hearing.

As Tom Hanks says in You've Got Mail...."Just call me Joe!"

Thanks,

Joe

Heineken View Post
Hi everyone, been involved in the trading world since 2001 when electronic trading was a new thing, and decimalization was a disaster for some (and a boon for us). Have been trading mostly cash equity, some futures, and might look at options and fixed income in the future.

Right now getting to grips with R and Python, emotions and semi-manual trading need to go out the window, too much money is lost on early profits and late stops. Learning how to program myself now, because what the programmers pump out is not sufficiently in touch with market reality, and this is the only way it is going to work.

I try not to trade through intermediaries, instead my company has its own brokerage deals on some markets.

"Learning how to program myself now, because what the programmers pump out is not sufficiently in touch with market reality, and this is the only way it is going to work."

Hey Heineken! I highlighted one of your sentences. This is my observation too, (my meager two cents) maybe overly focused on the programming for example and not on the right things with respect to finding profitable trades.

You mentioned your company secures its own brokerage deals, etc. Do you mind elaborating on that so I am 100% on that. Does your company provide services to the public? Thanks in advance -FastTrading

Hello everyone
I have been trading on and off since 2001.
I have been lurking here for over 800 days. So I have
Read over and over the benefits of having a journal
And would like to start one here. I really enjoy the attitude
Of people on this forum and their candor!
I have lost consistently the past 14 years until
Last year . I intend to craft a realistic trading plan
Here and one that fits me. You guys inspire me!
I have lost more sleep than I care to admit reading journal s
And looking at charts here

Thanks

Jason

Hi,
I have been trading since 2012,live in Hungary.
Had big wins, and big losses..Still searching the way, to be consistent in profits.
I know, there sholuld be more systems, which are lead to profit....
Recently I'm trying to use the rangebar charts.
I 'll follow your thoughts, and promise, if I find a good system, I'll share with you all.
Thanks!

I traded first stocks then futures back mid 1980s, got slammed in 87 crash. took long hiatus.
Did stocks & their options early 2000s. Then another long hiatus.
Last 2 years back to stocks & options but lately got sucked into NG 3x ETNs.
Decided its time to get serious & relearn futures.
I gotta say, my historic timing makes me sometimes feel like I'm cursed.

This is a great resource. Things sure have changed since I started!
One constant is fear & greed with abysmally biased financial reporting.

Hello everyone,

I have been researching and exploring trading using NT primary instrument CL. I have some market experience from my time working in an oil trading company where I had my first job as an analyst. However no trading experience. I have an interest for price aution trading, volume analysis and scalping. I'm short sighted in my strategies. I have been practicing on market replay and will be doing so for the time being.

Thanks,

Hello everyone,

Newbie ES trader here from Boston.

My journey started about a little over 2.5 years back when I started wondering what stocks are. After a brief stint with stocks and swing trading in the first year, I stumbled upon Price Action, Futures and Al Brooks.

Then after 6 months of paper trading, I have been trading live for about a year now. I day trade the ES (5 min chart) Al Brooks style 2 or 3 days per week.

It has been a heck of journey so far. Al Brooks, Mark Douglas and Josh Waitzkin (Art of learning) have been lighting my path. I believe Patience, Mastery of one technique and a probabilistic mindset are a must to stay in this business. I strive to execute better every single session.

I am here to collaborate with my own experience and learn from experienced traders as I look forward to scale up and elevate my trading in the coming years.

Cheers.

I have been trading futures for 40+ years; starting at 16 with some summer money I saved, then professionally to various bank desks including global head trader, then to hedge funds as an algo developer / execution desk, then to prop shops. I have traded everything from options, futures, equities, rates.

Happy to be here to share and learn.

Automating my trades has been one of the biggest changes in my life. Sometimes I would enter a trade too late, exit too early. Now that I've automated my trading style it's allowed for me to not be emotionally connected to the trade and free more time up on my hands. I still have to make slight tweaks and adjustments with automated trading but for the most part it's fairly simplistic. So if I'm at the gym or sleep or dinner the platform I use will still take the trades for me without me sitting there monitoring it all day long. Also help me trade more than one market at a time. I can trade any amount of markets (Budget willing) at the same time which is pretty awesome.

I don't know if everyone here still manually trades (which I still do a little bit) or even have looked into automated trading structures. NOT ROBOTS. But actually plugging your brain into the software and the software working as you.

---------------------------------

I'm running a lot of my grey box stuff on spreadsheets, and I'd love to automate, but I'm not a programmer. I'm looking at the website and this looks very interesting.
