Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

EOD Trader

Hi everyone,
Great forum you have here. I've been trading end of day for the past few years because of my job and have had my share of gains and losses. Not enough gains to quit my job though. I've recently started to use NT7 and hope to find useful information to help me succeed and contribute to help others when I can.

Hello from Western Colorado

Hi All,

I started trading with stock options - learned a lot, but found the ES was a better fit for me. My trading has been up and down over the past few years as I worked on my Holy Grail (positive expectation system + mindset).

I'm satisfied with my system now, and am really watching what I'm saying to myself when I justify taking a position. If the words fit my system, I'm in - if the words start with "I think it will....", then I'm trying to enter a momentum bar before completion, expecting it to continue to my targets; this is where I usually get nailed. I only trade retracements after a trendline cross now (all tfs) and my numbers are MUCH better.

I'm getting used to being ok with small losers and trusting my system. I've finally created a spreadsheet that calculates my entry, stop, and target numbers quickly - not that I can't do it in my head, but the process of physically plugging in the numbers and putting in the orders keeps my head and emotions in the right place.

Good wishes to everyone for good trading.

Hello Everyone
My name is Masood from London UK.

I thanks mike for this great forum.
I am a newbie in this area. I learnt to play about with forex. made some and lost more. I am now taking interest in options. they sound great but I have no clue yet how to play them as I am finding a bit difficult to understand the many confusing terms. But I am sure its a matter of time when I will start to understand. I will ask you guys when I seek help. I will also share my experience in future.
Thanks to all, Cheeers.

Hi All

Been trading for about 20 years. Ran a trading desk at an investment bank for 10. Semi-retired now for 5+ years. Never traded equites much until I left banking. I primarily discretionary trade but my biases are driven by system generated edges. I still have a dream of having an automated set of strategies that does most of my trading but I haven't got there yet (not sure I ever will). Tried a lot of platforms TradeStation, WealthLab, MultiCharts, ThinkOrSwim, NinjaTrader, but I've always been somewhat dis-satisfied with all of them at some point. I even tried coding my own. I've decided to commit to NinjaTrader with the release of NT8 which lead me to this forum.

Hi Everyone,

I have been a member of Big Mikes for a long time, but have never posted anything. The reason for never posting was that I was a part owner of a Vendor Company called EOTPro for many years, and thought that it was not proper for me to post, but I have retired from EOTPro, so there is no conflict anymore.

I have traded futures since 1979. That means I have been trading futures for 36 years. No wonder I feel so old. I also wrote many of the indicators for EOTPro when we first opened the company. I started writing the indicators I first traded with, in the early versions of TradeStation.

I now trade CL, TF, ES, Stocks, and Stock options.

I now use NinjaTrader and MultiCharts for trading futures, and MetaStock and Omnitrader for trading stocks. I only trade stocks EOD.
