I'm absolutely a novice on the trading world and I want to be part of it.

On the time being I'm following an online trading course, which is helping me to understand the fundamental steps to start on this journey. I'm using NT and Just (really "just", actually last Thursday..) started trading with my sim account on miniSP, with lots of expectation to learn and taking the time and errors to grow understanding and giving baby steps. Being honest with you I feel the urge to open my account tomorrow and start playing with real money!, but I know this will be more of a far ahead milestone for me and I hope in no more than 12months I can be there...

I have not lost any real money so far on the futures market, but I have lost big time usd on investments in the real state projects in developing countries. Wrong decisions, following wrong signals, believing on business cases that eventually fail to deliver, at the end with a strong feeling of "no control" on how I've lost my money, but that is for me a closed chapter. At least this time it will be completely up to me, wheatear I win or loose, and I like that feeling for starters.

My background is a Telecoms engineer, with a little programming experience, enjoying a lot to have time to let my mind wonder to learn new stuff on technology as well as to start electronic projects involving HW/SW. Problem is, not so much of "quality" time left after my 12-14 hs daily of work happening in my life. So today this activity is starting for me in a "hobby" modus, that is taking big time attention and producing a motivation but with high expectations that with work, study, practice and practice , it can become perhaps a turning point in my money adventures with a positive outlook.
I expect to contribute to the forum in the best way I can, and I expect to learn a lot from you guys.
Many thanks
elchurles

Hi to everyone. Intermediate trader looking to be successful. Forex- medium term, SPI200 and Dax shorter term. Interested in the trading journals but the site looks great so I'll have a look around.

I'm a modestly successful commodities trader for the past 18 months. I'm using a system of seasonal trades suggested by an online service and I apply my own metrics to further qualify those suggested trades to determine position size, quality of the trade and other factors. I've recently read "Chronicles of a million dollar trader" by Don Williams which prompted my to want to learn about day trading the ES mini contract.

Hello,

Henri from The Netherlands, close to Amsterdam.

Started trading somewhere in 1993. Quickly started using software to do rule based trading. I like everything to be objective instead of subjective so that worked out well for me.

Basicaly from time to time did almost anything on the financial market. Daytrading, options, futures, stocks, bonds etc.

I have been a writer for a technical analysis magazine in the past and frequent poster on forums and mailing lists.

After the birth of my now 9 year old son however I took it a little more easy and am now much less "agressive" and mainly trade stocks with weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly systems.

I am a big believer in systematic portfolio trading.

Hope te be able to help some people out,

greetings

Hi to all,

I'm a newbie to trading and wanted to gather as much information as I can to be a consistent and profitable trader. I figured getting started here was a pretty good start. I'm going to send some time on here, listening and learning. Thanks to Big Mike for giving me a place to come and engage and learn.
