Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

Hi Mike,

Glad to join this fourm.

I'm from Cadiz, Spain and watching your blog for a couple of weeks.
I'm trading for a couple of years with stocks and currently with futures. I'm interested in trading the future market, especially ES, NQ and YM.

Hope to learn the things to live.

I graduated college with a degree in English and no idea what to do with it. I tried some trading on a whim, and have been working at it full-time for the last year now. So far my trading has simply used price / value with fairly basic charting. Over the Christmas slow times I've been learning NT, and trying to start out the year with some new perspective. Over the last year I managed to eek out a profit after some rough starts, and hoping that a focus on more detail and firmer strategies can help this year be solidly profitable.

Hi Mike and felow Members,

Thanks for letting me join your group. I am in Aussieland. I have been trading live for the past 6 months unsuccessfully. Before that I was trading in sim with some success and thought it would be possible to make some money some of the time.
I am a TI member and have not had success with their trading style
I work most of the day and and was convinced that trading 2 hours per day according to TI would be enough to make money. Little di I know which 2 hours it could be as I was only able to trade the first 2 at the market opening due to work the next day. I have tried several styles and indicators after that and have not been successful so far. I have lost all of the money in my trading account. I am about to give up. I was searching the internet about new trading styles and came upon yours.

I hope to learn something new from you and your members.

Hi Gambler67

Glad that you're with the Big Mike Family! Welcome aboard!

I am possibly too green to give you any advice. After months of research and learning full-time, I realize having a written Trading Plan (incl profit target, stoploss and timeline etc) and Daily Game Plan are critical to one's trading venture. I highly recommend your reading some great books on that + learning how to be a well-disciplined and focussed trader.

I do have some e-Books. You can provide me with an email account that can accommodate at least 9MB enclosure(s) and I will email them over.

Happy & Successful Trading!

Beth

brand new to the forum (at least writing in it)

Hi All,
Glad to be on board as a vip! Worth every penny I'm sure.
I've blown up a few times, never made anything I could hold on to; the wife wants me to stop, and I'm sure I've learned enough to earn a good living.
Anyone heard this before?
Thanks for having me.

Hi Beth,

Thanks for your mail. I dont know if my current email add. can accomodate 9MB.

The trading plan does not seem to be a problem. I think the problem is that the markets have already moved during premarket and by the time, I start during the market hours, the market becomes too violent, and takes out my stops. I have even increased my stops, but have instead increased my losses.

Do you have any startegies or methods that seem to work? Until know only TI and the brokers have made made any money.

Thanking you. Have a Happy and Prosperous New year.

Kind regards,

Mahesh

The forum can accept very large attachments in posts so they can be shared with all members. Please create a new thread or upload non-commercial books to the File Sharing section under Educational.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

A prosperous New Year to all

Hello Traders,
I am a retired carpenter. I spent the greater part of my life swinging a hammer and raising a family. Around 10 years ago I decided to learn how to trade so that I would have some income when I got too old to do construction work.
Since then, I have traded many small accounts with many FCMs. I made some money, lost some money, and pretty much broke even over the years. I never really had enough money to trade, and "let it ride".

To make a long story short, I am currently a CTA (Commodity Trading Advisor), registered with the CFTC and member of the NFA. I will put my 2 cents worth into your forum to help the new guys. Please keep in mind that my time is limited, and I need to be very careful about what I say.

I got to this site because I was doing a google search about Fibonacci Patterns, which fascinates me. I have a couple of websites which may be helpful ( I am not selling anything). There is no such thing as "trading secrets". All the info is out there, its just hard to find, especially if you dont know what your looking for.

I am just a regular type guy that works hard on whatever I am working on. And that is the secret Holy Grail. Just work hard and figure it out. You can do it.

My websites are:
fxOPTIONguy.com
lvc1.com
(the system would not allow me to provide links)

Well, good luck to all, and if anyone has any info on Fibo-patterns, lay it on me. Please dont clutter up my business email.
thanks,
Dana
