Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

LJ,

Please use the TRO thread to discuss TRO's method so this Introductory thread stays on-topic.

Mike

Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.

Need help?
1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.
6)

Newbie

Hi Everyone,

My name is Scott and I am new to this forum. I Decided to take control of my stock investing away from my broker in the spring of 2009. I started with swing trading and studying technical analysis. I did OK (broke even) but never really liked the time it took to generate profit.
Then I stumbled onto day trading, something I didn't think I wanted to pursue. I learned about level 2 quotes, support and resistance and direct access trading. Mostly I learned how professional traders trade. What attracted me to day trading is the ability to generate a daily income. I have settled on scalping the e-mini futures market. I like the volatility, profit potential and being able to focus on one product.
I have been in a training course for 3 months now trading on sim and am planning on live trading by the end of January 2010. I found this forum while searching for specific indicators for Ninja Trader. This forum and site are very well done. I look forward to learning and sharing all of the great info on this site.

Thanks, Mike for what you have created.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Scott

Hi

Hello All,

I am from India and a trader for the last 6 years. Use chart patterns and Market profile. There is an excellent thread on Harmonic Patterns by George here, and that thread brought me here through google.

Merry Christmas to All

Hey All,

I wanted to thank Big Mike et al for some great indicators I've found on this site. I've been able to combine one or two with indicators I've found elsewhere and will be happy to share those results, should I be smart enough to find the proper forum in which to do so.

Blz17 (if he is who I think he is) will probably tell you not to hold your breath on that one

Dave
