Welcome to futures.io.

Welcome, Guest!

This forum was established to help traders (especially futures traders) by openly sharing indicators, strategies, methods, trading journals and discussing the psychology of trading.

We are fundamentally different than most other trading forums:
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive on our forums.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendor advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in openness and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, it is not something tangible you can download.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community. It's free and simple, and we will never resell your private information.

New

Whats going on all.

Name is Dan Bustamante, I trade TF, CL, Euro and equity options. Worked for a FX broker dealer for a while and 2 small funds. Big fan of trend/wave analysis. Trading futures/options so that I can run a small activist fund on small/mid cap corporations by age 30.

Good to be here looking forward to chatting with like minded folks.

"Thery call me Bruce"

Looking forward to exploring, learning and earning hopefully. I've tried many things but obviously not the RIGHT things.

Background:

I am a 1979 Graduate from UAMSC College of Pharmacy practicing Nuclear Pharmacy in TN. I am hoping to retire in the next 5-8 years but if I don't get a grip on my bad investments it may be long after that. I enjoy computers which may be part of the problem. I keep looking for that magic software that tells me when to buy, when to sell and where to put all money for the largest return! LOL

I've tried traditional stocks and did pretty good but was only beginners luck, right place right time type stuff. Made about 15K but then I ran across VRNG which has been my unlucky downfall. I am so deep in it now and still waiting on some finiality.

Next I tried Penny Stocks and have done so so with them but mostly following the routing of from those that don't know the stock market to those that do.

I hope to become one of those who DO while I still have some money so I CAN DO.. lol

Howdy

I am a breakeven trader - struggling to control my emotions. Doing better since signing up with TST. Blew away 2 combines earlier. Positive in the 3rd but ran out of time. All were ES combines. Doing pretty well in a 4th one that I started specifically for CL last week - so far two thirds of my way to the profit target. Starting a 5th combine next week for ES. Definitely a big fan of TST.

Thinking of maintaining my TST journal here starting next week. Not sure yet.

Been to this forum many many times. Finally registered today. Feels good to be part of it already.

New Trader

When I logon it reminds me continually that I have not posted for so many days so to short circuit that, here it goes,
I am new to trading and decided to join the elite group in the hope of learning a suitable fx strategy that has a positive expectancy,I'm interested in the KISS principle and have downloaded Ninja Trader only to find that it seems beyond a mature age person to come to grips with it,never mind,I will continue to persevere

Intro / First Post

Hi All,

I'm happy to be a part of this community!

I've been studying and testing trading systems and methods for over 15 years. Over this period, I have traded on and off occasionally, trying to find my preferred vehicle, method and timeframe. I'm based in Brazil, and currently day trade the local futures stock index, the Bovespa.

I consider myself a beginner to intermediate level trader, working hard to become a profitable full-time day trader.

Thanks everybody!

Hiya Folks

About me,

I am a mid-western kid, father of one, with a wonderful girlfriend that supports me like everyone here at BigMike's. Which is A LOT

I am new to trading futures but not new to trading in general. I have had SIM accounts that I have traded since I was just a we chap. And I am now beginning with TopStep Trader in which I see as my opportunity to do what I have always wanted to do with my life, Trade. So I am extremely thankful for that.

I also want to add that this community is a real asset beyond explanation, considering I have never had the opportunity to learn from individuals and only from what I have read in books. Which, don't get me wrong, is wonderful. But being involved here is a privilege that I will NOT take for granted. Thank you BigMike for making this site and providing the opportunity and value that you do.

About my trading, I started in currencies and Stocks at a young age, not knowing what I was doing. Slowly but surely I moved through several styles or "edges" that really never worked. After I began reading at a veracious pace I began to realize that my edge wasn't the problem but in fact my mind itself was holding me back. So I stuck to my very simple Top-Down Countertrend approach, learned everything I could about my few indicators of choice and began practicing strictly one my mental state and ability to approach every moment in the market as unique. Since then I have been able to really progress.

This also has a lot to with being able to talk to traders like yourself, through the TST Chat room and now big mikes. I am extremely thankful for being able to be apart of a community like this.

Again, Thank you and hope to be able to contribute on here as much as all you do.

Sliebler (I messed up my username)

talk soon
