Hi all and a big thanks for Mike having created the forum and you all for keeping it alive and vibrant!
I started to look into FX trading a few months ago, At first I was faced with what I guess are the usual problems:
How to create a strategy in Metatrader4, how to test them etc etc. I even gave up all my spare time for a couple of weeks just to build my first tick-by-tick strategy with four entry qualifiers and a couple of exit qualifiers..in Excel! When done I learned that it was practically useless due to its lack in flexibility. About the same time, I came across NinjaTrader which I find a terrific platform.
Now, I am facing a few problems in order to take the final steps towards testing and putting something live and trading. There is a lot to learn and I will bombard the rest of the forum with questions.
If I can share what I have learned during the journey I would be happy to.
Thanks and happy trading!

Reason: Asking questions inwrong place
Hello every one. I am new to Mike's. I have been trading futures for many years with mixed results. Hope to improve myself with the help of all the experienced and knowledgeable people here. Look forward to learn from you. Thanks.
I'm a 31 year old construction guy looking for a hot, sexy rich experienced female trader to show me the ropes! LOL seriously I've come here to try and learn charts to make money pretty much just like everyone else.. I'm a decent guy who can be quite reserved at times and is also not the greatest speller/writer. Oh ya I also love my alone time! But on the flip side if I like you, I can be extremely witty, and funny.. My thoughts and verbal word play can be hilarious to a chosen few.
i'm using this forum for a while now, off and on and do notice a lot of experience. I'm in trading for 10+ years, but specialised in futures in the last 3 years.
Continiously looking for even better indicators that enhances my profits on trading futures, Fdax & S&P mini's. I'm sure i can help some people finding their way in the tradingworld, but at the same time, pick up a lot of excellent information and indicators on this site!
An excellent site, well done, hopefully i can contribute to the quality.
I dont trade live yet, will start in few weeks. But I have some experiances with burning account... Maybe I can help with some of your questions. I trade only FDAX index. Divergence on RSI. and only morning sesion 9-12. The way I am testing is like this. Using Ninja trader 7, I move the 5 min chart to any date, on other screen I have 60 min chart, where I am choosing trend. Then I am simply moving chart by each candle, till a signal comes up. If all criteria are met I put enter price, time, SL, and other datas to an excel sheet. Then I am moving chart more till it reaches either SL, or PT or other exit set by strategy. Any major ideas, changes I test like this on 100-200 days, then I paper trade the same idea for at least one month. I hope this will help you a litlle.
I looked through the newcomer section and did not find an answer and the search box also did not it. How do I jump to a certain page number in a certain thread? The pages listed on the top can be changed only one at a time. Is there a help button / FAQ somewhere on this site that can answer these type of questions? Thanks.
And if you have further questions, please do NOT use this thread - as this thread is only for introductions, and every time someone posts thousands of emails and alerts are sent out. Instead, start a new thread.
Due to time constraints, please do not PM me if your question can be resolved or answered on the forum.
Need help? 1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first. 2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses. 3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make. 4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance. 5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers. 6) Help using the forum? Watch this video to learn general tips on using the site.
