Glad to have this forum. Been trading for a year and have, of course, made all the classic mistakes new traders make. But, I enjoy trading and keep coming back for more. Call me a glutton for punishment. I work during the day, so I trend-follow grains. When I leave the Army I plan to incorporate scalping the ES into my trading plan as I will need to trade for a living.
Any advice and mentorship is desperately welcomed. Again, very glad to be here.
welcome to bg, but be careful there about mentorship, ok?
welcome to bg
you'll have practically everything you need to learn how to trade here at bg
just allocate about a week in reading what interests you, then get on with what you gather from your reading about the directions you wish to take, ok?
crystalize your idea into operational terms and display it here for more experienced traders to offer other pointers to solidify your trading plan, if you wish to be done that way.
or as you mention you can find a mentor. but at this early stage, search, seek and research what you need and what interest you here at bg.... without having to pay any extra to any one which might or might not be able to lead you to trade profitably....
just a thought for you to ponder, if you want to....
Love your site.I've been trading live for about 4 months.I haven't blown up yet, but my account is smaller than it was.I'm beginning to realize how much I don't know about this.Always a milestone for me, when I tackle something new!!
when what you expected did not materialize once, twice or thrice.... in succession, perhaps it is time to stop trading live for a time.... ok? no one, absolutely no one, will laugh at us for stop trading for a time.... to regroup, rethink and reexamine what went wrong. as a matter of fact, it is most prudent for every trader to do so, when calls are going the other way in succession.
sim trade for a few days and reexamine your trading plans, your setup and your execution et al....
and do not, if i were you, attempt to resume live unless you can show yourself that you are profitable in sim.... ok?
sometimes, it is not your setup at all.... it is just the market independent movement.... for that particular day or days that caused you to lose trades.... just have to suck it up.... and keep on trading and NEVER without stops, pls.
particularly, when you know that your call is on the wrong side, get out immediately to preserve your livelihood--NEVER WAIT OUT TO PROVE YOU ARE RIGHT AND THE MARKET IS WRONG....!

Hello Mike and All,
I stumbled upon this awesome site a couple of weeks ago and glad to join in this forum.
I'm a DayTrader and my favorite instruments are the TF and CL. I am trading with WCCI patterns
and find there is a need to learn more strategies and to share in this community.

haven't you heard the news about woodie's goodies?
haven't you heard the news about woodies' goodies?
well, you need to search around very quickly and find out for yourself, ok?
i guess you already submitted the 99 usd donation to watch woodie using others' proprietary intellectual properties in his trading room without giving proper credit to the owners; worse yet, he has been claiming those as his own.... well, the 99 most probably is nonrefundable too, right?
any way, more importantly, welcome to bg, there are plenty of indicators around for you to play with, and to your heart's content....
again, welcome wudi.... (is that your chinese name?)
Thanks for the warm welcome.
After 16 years of investment bank job, I am in the process of fundamentally changing my live and go private trader. No back door. Had highly volatile times in over the years. From holding stocks for years to scalping futures. Striving to "smoothen" performance and income. Less leverage, more patience. Reading some of the posts with great interest. Hopefully can contribute from time to time when I am live.
Hi. I just started looking into trading. A friend helped me get started and gave me some reading material to go over. I haven't made any actual trades yet, but while experimenting with the demo I've seen how easy it is to make money, and also how easy it is to lose money. I have a lot to learn about this and I've been told that this site has a lot of great information.
