I've been trading/learning part time for the last 2 yrs, I've started to become serious about this over the past few months and have even made a profit for 2 months in a row.
I don't have any particular trading system just what looks good at the time. I came across this site by chance as there is alot of b/s information out there.
Hope to learn alot more. Thanks, Adrian

hi adrian

welcome to bm

so you wanna learn to trade so you can make money consistently, right?

you come to the right place.

there are plenty of info here that would help you on your way to learn how to be consistent in your trading.

i won't say that you won't be able to learn to trade profitably and consistently before a year or so.... but you can surely try and prove many wrong....

wish you luck. many of us here spend more than a year or more than a few years before we can prove to ourselves that we can trade on par with others.... some may take even longer.... it all depends on your drive and yourself.... how you apply yourself toward your ultimate goal....

Traded grains part time for a couple of months in 1999, discovered ES through Mr. Temple Williams and learned the basics from him then went full time intra-day in about 6 months. Switched to NQ about a year later and I'm still there. I love the volatility don't you know?

I believe that trading is 90% mental and 10% technique. However, everyone else is welcome to a different opinion on that subject, eh? (grin)

I have looked at ALL the public indicators. Settling upon my interpretations of eWave, Fibs, 3 bar breakout, 8/3 bar ema, Candlesticks and Volume. I like the KISS method. My 20 second, 1, 3 and 5 min charts are clean, neat and easy to see the price action. I was unaware that I trade price action until I read about it on Mikes blog. I simply discovered that is what works for me, a long long time ago. The indicators are simply heads up alerts that keep me on top of my game.

I use RCG for a brokerage, eSignal charts and data, and a multiscreen iMac computer. The iMac was new to me 6 months ago. It took me about 6 weeks to gain enough confidence with it. I used to have a Winblows system with a complete backup system, plus a Unix system. Now I have several Virtual machines ready to launch on the iMac and my girlfriends Winblows machine, soon to be a Mac Laptop, running right next to me for a backup. This is the only way to go, IMHO. (grin)

I am here cause Mike is my kind of trader, don't you know. (grin) I suspect some others here are much like myself, since like attracts like, eh?

Oh ya, I am a displaced Canuck, and a successful long time Sprint Car and Off Road Motorcycle Racer as well. (lol)

Ed,

I've been studying trading since May and have kept a log of my simulated trades. I'm interested in ES and in the last two months have seen it is possible to win trades, several times in a row. My overall accumulated points average a tick loss each trade. I'm here to learn and contribute if I get the hang of this thing. I do not intend to go 'live' if I can't be consistent. I've looked around the web for help and found Mike's site. Thanks Mike for caring and sharing! I wish to learn the technical analysis now, just started using indicators and don't know what I'm doing! LOL!

I'm a full time futures/options trader for over a year now. No blow ups and my first year ended in the green. I primarily trade bond and currency futures, from time to time I may enter the other futures market if seen warranted but I prefer to stay with in my comfort zone. I trade on the intra day using 5 & 45 min charts. I've been trading on my own for the majority of time and was looking for a place where i can share ideas with fellow traders to increase my thought pool and try to grow personally.

Hello, I've been trading actively for about a year now and on an average day can make a decent amount of profit. It's just that on loosing days, i tend to over trade and take unacceptable losses. So as a self taught trader i'm taking steps to try to improve consistency and prevent trading in chop. Hopefully futures.io (formerly BMT) can assist me in my quest, thank you and i look forward to being a member of the futures.io (formerly BMT) community.

Hello I joined a few weeks back. It's one of the best forums out there for traders like me.

Lately I'm trying to trade NQ, years back I unsuccesfully traded Forex.
I like the market and its complexity and most of all the challenge. Like most of you I've read plenty of books and have finally come up with my own style or set ups.

Thank you Mike for this forum. I was needing some education in volume tape reading and have gotten plenty of tips here. Once I proof my set ups work I'll share it since its nothing new just a tweak of many styles I have read about.

I'm 45 years old and would love to be a full time trader but not for money but mostly to feel that I can handle markets againt most skillfull traders in the world.
I did start in Forex because I new it was a way harder market since one does not have "real volume" or any volume therefore one is subject to much manipulation or misreadings of trend and the indicatos are worthless in that market. Today some forex feeds show volume but its their volume a very small percentage of the real thing so its really like having nothing.
In any cas I feel it did prepared me for a market like ES or NQ I hope to do decent, my tragets are lame actually, just to survive with capital for a month would be something good.

If you trade forex I wish you good luck and warn you to move to a another market.

Good luck

Marco 67

Hi everyone and thanks to all of you especially Mike for having a place such as this.
I am brand new to this trading less than 6 months and find it very interesting. Wow what a bunch of stuff you can find
out here in the worldwideweb about trading. Seems pretty much if one trader says this way there are certainly others saying no this way LOL. Going to find "My Way", here i am looking forward to soaking up as much as possible and begin this journey into the world of trading, hope to grow and learn and be able to contribute something here in the future even if just some comments about my path. Thanks for having me many ticks and pips to all!
