Keen on the idea of trading as profession for already 7 years. My dream is to grow, educate and lead through life a set of trade bots. I understand that the Grail does not exist, but I am convinced that art should gradually grow to the craft, science and finally technology. So it should be with system trading too.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the past years managed to squander the tremendous amount of money. Of course, stupidity, on the emotions, effortlessly. And, most interestingly, against my own beliefs. It was like an alcoholic disruption into drinking bout. Although have no problems with gambling before and now.
Found this forum with the help of FuturesFX.ca (Simon Jousef). Now trying to learn what Simon teaches -- trading based on the Footprint (Gomi’s ladder)+ Mini Market Profile (one that no letters, just the cumulative amount per price) as the main tools. I want to add Time & Sales (tape) and DOM later.
I have almost sleeping accounts with Mirus Futures and Interactive Brokers. Platform - Ninja Trader 7.
The main problem: can not give up other business and trust only trading. I'm afraid, I guess. But I want. Do not have enough forces for everything. However, I think the problem is not the lack of time. Not enough room in head. Therefore, the head (and discipline) must be dealt with first.
So, I wish you keep your head in order . And good trading!
P.S. Big thanks to Big Mike for his kind work. And to Gomi for his instruments too!
Hello All. Like most posts I read about trading--I've blown out my share trading accounts. This is the primary reason why I kept my day job over the years. As my mother would put it, I'm hard-headed. I would buy trading systems and either modify the product and/or read two chapters and use real money to trade it. To be honest, I made quite a bit of money doing it that way--but I would always get greedy and over-extend myself and WAMMO!!!
But, currently (as of February 11), our getting involved in day trading the S&P emini. I live in the Monterey Bay area of California and will trade before I go to work each morning. I've bought another system, but this time I will follow it. I getting old now--can't afford to blow-up anymore accounts!!
By the way Big Mike--I apologize for not providing an intro. It took me all of February to get a future's account with Trade Station. Now I'm trying to set it up to run my system. Needless to say I having difficulty getting things working.
Hello everybody, I am Giuseppe (the last "e" should be pronounced like the first "e" in "register" :-) from the magnificient Rome, in Italy.
I am a partner in a big management consulting firm and a truly trading enthusiast, especially for what concerns options and futures.
I've started studying WD Gann but then I moved toward less esoteric approaches and currently I am an avid student of Charles Cottle in the options' arena and a very beginner in eMinis trading, looking for sound systems to apply to my daily training.
As everybody in the forum, I am more than willing to share my knowledge in options and of course very much eager to learn from the skilled guys other there.
I look forward to actively participate to the forum
Happy to join. Found this site researching technical trading and been lurking around a couple of months. Traded part time and working full time in semiconductors until now. Decided to trade full time with technicals. Crashed and burned a couple of times using fundamentals (emotions).
Wanted to introduce myself and give a little background.
I have been trading off and on for about 12 years. Traded a little bit of everything over the years. Forex, stocks, options, futures. Forex is my current poison of choice. I am fortunate enough to have two things in my life I love to do; my current job and trading. Over the past couple of years I have started to get serious about my trading and want to eventually make it a career. I love the markets, I love to learn. I hope to be able to contribute to this forum in a meaningful way.
