AFAIK, there is no DOM(price ladder) in amibroker. Does anyone have a workaround for this? am really surprised why such a widely used software has no order flow module. Also, for this reason, its hard to code order flow indicators. How do professionals handle this deficiency?

You can use Level 2 in AmiBroker. There are threads about importing Level 2 data at the AmiBroker Yahoo Group forum. A quick search turned up message # 133082 and 171503 but there are probably more. Also, Support can undoubtedly help.

i had doubts cause elsewhere(cannot post link coz my total post count is only 2) it was suggested that it would be impossible with amibroker due to memory issues. was looking to create "order flow indicators".
thanks colion

It's not an issue of memory. Amibroker has the BEST memory management of ALL of the trading programs. The reason there is not a DOM is because the maintenance of the DOM and API for the various brokers rests on the developer, but primarily benefits the brokers. There is also the issue of potential lawsuits for DOM patents such as with Ninjatrader.

It's a great disappointment to me as an owner of Amibroker. It's such as superior program, but it's seriously lacking as a full trading program. It's also limited by having to use expensive market data options if one is not using Interactive Brokers.

Amibroker could possibly the top trading program if it weren't for these limitations.

The Internet is full of a lot of amateurish "suggestions" no matter what subject it is concerned. So whoever suggested above one it's part of the same category - nonsense.

Has this evolved since 2015?
Still no DOM (order book)/T&S access in AB?

If so, what a pity as it rules it out for live automated trading based on orderebook patterns and such.

Still nothing, and I don't believe Tomasz has any plans at all to add it.
